Passing on a lesson learned

I made two submissions for Happy Birthday. They were identical bluegrass style versions but one used female vocals while the other used make vocals.

The male vocal was forwarded but the female version was not with the statement with that there wasn't enough difference between the two. https://www.taxi.com/members/zuHdYfRqTI ... e-birthday

I thought was that the two versions would give the end customer an option to pick one or the other without changing the style. But, no. Still, if the library contacts me about this, I will offer up the female version as well just to see what they say.

So, learn from my mistake. Just swapping out male/female vocals is not enough. You need to submit totally different versions of the song.

Well the issue here is, for a given listing, if both meet the requirements well, forwarding both just overloads what the client has to sort through. This listing was about anything but whether the vocal was male or female. It is possible that for other listings, both might be forwarded. Or the choice would come down to which vocal was performed better. Congrats on getting one through! Hope you get the call!

Sort of understand the logic of not forwarding both.
On the other hand any prospective library will be super happy to have an alt with a different gender on the vocals.
The flexibility that gives clients when placing to picture is a stand out feature.

So can see the case for forwarding both.

Anyway congrats as very likely both will end up being signed anyway if you get the call
