Forward for 70's Disco R&B Instrumental
Posted: Fri Sep 05, 2025 11:00 am
I only got ONE out of 7 submissions though...but hey I will take it!
LISTING: '70s-Sounding R&B/DISCO INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a respected Music Publisher for an (up to) $5,000 placement in a new Feature Film!
IMPORTANT: This Company is also running a Listing that asks for '70s-Sounding R&B/DISCO SONGS with VOCALS (TAXI # S250825SO), so please don't confuse the two. This listing (that you're reading right now) is for INSTRUMENTAL CUES only.
This Publisher is hunting for Instrumental Cues that would appeal to fans of the references below, which we got directly from our client:
"Got To Give It Up" by Marvin Gaye
"Dusic" by Brick
"Disco Inferno" by The Trammps
"Dancing Queen" by ABBA
"September" by Earth, Wind & Fire
Although the references have vocals, please submit INSTRUMENTAL CUES only for this opportunity!
IMPORTANT: This Publisher has told us that, while they would love to hear vintage material (recorded back in the '70s, give or take a few years), they are also open to receiving recently recorded/produced Instrumental Cues in the same style as the references. If you’re submitting more recently recorded material, it should convincingly mimic the sound and style of the era.
Please submit original R&B/Disco Instrumental Cues that channel the spirit of the late '70s! Whether your pieces pulse with sultry, romantic grooves or radiate pure Disco energy, they should showcase compelling melodies and motifs, tight, funky rhythms, strong arrangements, and top-tier musicianship with plenty of soul and flair. Instrumentation that reflects the classic sounds of '70s R&B and Disco will work best (think bass guitar, smooth electric keys, wah-style electric guitars, disco-style strings, etc.). Live instrumentation is preferred, but high-quality samples and virtual instruments that authentically capture the vintage vibe are welcome.
Submissions should be about 90 seconds long, give or take. Non-faded, Buttoned/Stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.
The estimated fee for this placement could be up to $5,000, depending on the ultimate use. The specific deal points will be handled directly between you and the client. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. Time permitting, all submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener who was handpicked by the client. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, September 1st, 2025. TAXI # S250901CS
