Three MORE forwards...

This time it was to listing # S061218EL!Y.Quote:Great sounding and energetic BREAK-BEAT/TECHNO ELECTRONICA INSTRUMENTALS [no vocals] a la the Chemical Bros., Crystal Method, the Prodigy, the Propellerheads, Fatboy Slim, etc. are wanted by one of the biggest and most successful Music Libraries in the business. They want 'unique, yet accessible' tracks -- material that is a 'cut above' the norm. Great hooks and tight, well-structured tracks are important. No uncleared samples, please. They offer a standard exclusive deal. Songs must be Broadcast Quality (excellent sounding home recordings are OK). Please submit one to three songs per CD/online. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Dec. 18, 2006. TAXI # S061218ELGeez. I hope SOMETHING comes out of these seven (or so) forwards...Edit: Oh, here's something funny! I accidentally submitted to this same listing twice (never managed to resolve the credit issue). One screener rejected all three tracks saying they didn't fit, the other guy (who forwarded) had nothing but praise...

That's pretty good. It shows that there is never a "right" answer about forwards. Subjective is as subjective does. Congratulations on the forwards, condolences on the rejects, even if its for the same songs.

Even if forwards do not result in deals, getting them is validation of your work, telling you that there is industry potential.Regarding the screener thing, that just shows how subjective it all is and how anything can vary from day to day, person to person. I bet the same thing could happen submitting the same song to the same A&R person at different times (Not recommending that!!!)... I think it you get some "yes" and some "no" on music, you are doing OK... It's only if you get consistent "no", then you need to re-think what you have. Some would use the story you told to bash TAXI. Are their screeners supposed to be beyond human? Not differ in opinions? Not feel differently from day to day? I admit it is more frustrating when you pay for submissions, as with TAXI, and this happens then when you do it on your own for no fee. I think you should tell TAXI what happened, not just for the $ credit, but also to have them talk to the screeners and get more feedback.Congrats again!! Casey
