Woo hoo! Got a forward, first time out! (sort of)

Hi everybody, this is my first post. First, a quick bit of backstory about me. I was actually a former Taxi member from about 10 years ago. And in the 3 years or so that I was signed up, I got all of 1 forward (nothing came of it). However, I didn't have nearly as many songs or the capability to do the quality of recording that I do now. For basically that reason, I decided Taxi wasn't really right for me at the time. And plus, I don't think they had nearly as many film/tv listings as they do now.So I just rejoined about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised to have, on one of my first submissions, my song "Love Song Casualty" forwarded to this listing:ALTERNATIVE ROCK/INDIE ROCK SONGS in the full variety of Death Cab for Cutie, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, etc. are needed by an LA-based Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements, including a lot of TAXI material signed and placed. The styles can be pretty diverse but excellent performances along with lyrics that are universal are essential. No instrumentals please - only songs with vocals! Male or female vocals are just fine. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed (great home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Monday, July 6, 2009. TAXI #Y090706IRSo, as everybody is always saying on here, it certainly is a bit of a confidence boost.Since I'm new to the board, not exactly sure how to post a link, but I think you can find it on my main page: www.taxi.com/shanesearles

It sounded a bit sci-fi to me, so I figured might as well give Area 51 a good shout out.

From one Shane to another - hello and welcome. Area 51 theme is truly ace, like the blend of groove funk and the scheming, soaring key motifs. Very original piece.Love Song Casualty is really good, too. Very poppy and current. Certainly has some hit potential IMO.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. And re: Area 51. Damn, I'm starting to regret not sending that one in for one of the instrumental listings. I kinda thought it might be a little too dated sounding (Gary Numan-ish). Oh well, maybe another one will come along soon.
