Batting .600 on Taxi so far & Major Label Forward
Posted: Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:59 pm
Hello all. Frequent lurker, first time poster. Have considered Taxi for years and became a member in February. Actually, a batting average of .600 may not be accurate as I have yet to see a penny's return on my investment, but of the 5 listings I've received responses, 3 have been forwards. Having known friends who rarely (if ever) saw a forward on Taxi, it feels like an accomplishment. I think my music is, at the very least, going places it wasn't before. Last night I got word that I was forwarded on this listing:CHRISTIAN-based INDIE ROCK SINGER-SONGWRITERS in the style of Sufjan Stevens, KT Tunstall, Conor Oberst, David Bazan (Pedro The Lion), etc. are sought by the Dir. of A&R of a Major Christian Label based in Nashville. He DOESN'T want overtly Christian lyrics - he wants artists who write/sing crossover lyrics only. In fact, you don't have to have Christian themes in your lyrics at all to be considered - but you must be of the Christian faith. That's very important. Please note: he's NOT seeking groups/bands for this listing - solo artists only. Please submit two to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics/photo/bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than March 25, 2009. TAXI #S090325IR Songs forwarded on this listing were "Almost Flew" and "Breakable on the Inside."You can hear some of my songs at http://www.taxi.com/jeffcaylor and a few of the newest ones at http://jeffcaylor.com. I look forward to getting to know you all.
