I am very excited to receive my first forward today. After listening to all the other songs that people posted as forwards for this one, I can definitely see what they were going for. I think they took mine as one of the more upbeat approaches.

Can anyone else say what comes next? This is my first time through; so I am just wondering if there is any timeline to expect.

What comes next? Pretty much what Derek stated in one of the other posts....write, submit, forget. So, write a bunch of other tracks to submit to listings and forget about this one for the time being . You could get a call in an hour, a month from now...or never. Sometimes it can take a couple years. I know that I got my first deal nine months after the forward, and after I had nearly forgotten about it.

Ya...I am having trouble posting links that look as clean as everyone else's. I'll figure it out and edit the post.
Thanks for the comments too. I figured it is a big waiting game now. I've gotten good at forgetting the submissions...now to practice forgetting the forwards!

Just as Gregg said... just immerse yourself in more writing. Build up your song/track catalog. You're gonna need it in the long run anyway. You may get a call from a publisher/supervisor soon... or never. But you increase your odds by writing more, submitting more and getting more forwards... I've had 16 forwards since joining last year. Only one last year and 15 this year. Still haven't heard from, or placed a track/song yet... (that I know of anyway, I keep checking with ASCAP!).

It's just the way it is...
