I went a little hog-wild on this one and submitted more songs than I'll ever admit!

But 3 were forwards!

It's always very cool when the listing party does the screening themselves and you get the nod.
The 3 songs were:
Another Blue Day
A Kiss On The Cheek (v2)
I Know You Like Me (with Paul Otten)
... on

Thank you Paul for the great job on our co-write and your performance on "I Know You Like Me"!
And thank you Taxi!

That's great Casey. Three excellent songs. My favorite of yours is Blue Moment though.

Thanks Judy! Actually, "Blue Moment" was one of a gaggle of songs submitted... But no dice on that one. Hope all is well!

That reminds me. So we aren't limited to a three song submission any more? That opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for throwing $5 bills around. Tell me it isn't so.

Hi Judy
You are limited to 3 songs per single submission but you can make multiple submissions with each one having up to 3 songs.

congrats, Casey!
And I didn't know that about submitting more than 3 songs. Cher & I solved that dilemma (of having more than 3 to submit) by her submitting 2 and me submitting 2.

Congrat's on the forwards Casey'
Quick question. Do you pay more attention to the a la's than the style genre descriptions ?
I submitted songs that I felt fit the descriptions but when I went to the a la's, I was way off.
When I watched the shows ( in a la's ) I found the music was more acoustic and light than what they
asked for. At least that's how I interpreted it.
Rich.

I generally pay a lot of attention to the a la's which results in me not submitting at all many times. As someone who doesn't write to listing that much, I've found if I'm not at all in the ballpark of the a la's, it is pointless. However, if the listing indicates a wide range around the a la's, I'm more likely to submit what I have.
I read this listing as wide range and focused on the relationship content. So, I submitted a bunch of songs that set mood and focused on aspects of relationships, as mentioned. I admit I did a little bit of "throw everything against the wall here to see what sticks"—not my usual approach.
My observation (casual, not necessarily reliable), looking at forwards and returns for THIS listing, both of my own songs and others who posted on the forum, was that mood setting and more obvious lyric (e.g. easy to pick up the lyrical message, nothing too complex) seemed to work best. I’m sure some very good songs got returned (talking about everyone) because they didn’t give the listing party the feeling that they would work to enhance a relationship scene in a TV show.
Overall, successful Taxi members will tell you that most important part of most listings is the a la list. Yes, there are exceptions, no rants please… Your mileage may vary…

In reading the line of this post, I took a tool the you seem to use Casey, and that's the way you read a listing AND take into account what they passed on. I WILL pay attention to ala's more. I also see that the songs that were selected from you, were more of an un-plugged sound. More acoustic, and less production than I use for my material. Thinking I might start a couple of those so that I'll have them in my quiver. Thanks. D.B.
P.S. - Great songs, btw.
