Well I left Taxi for a year after several rejections on every song that I would send in. Took some time to soak in all of the critique information and tried for a year to better my music both vocally, lyrically, and production as well. I am super excited to report that my very first submission of the year was forwarded!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY..... My song (Breathless) was forwarded onto the listing below. I am so happy that the folks at Taxi gave me such great advice and constructive critiques. My song is playing on my taxi page as well.

Happy SC Fella, Kevin M. of SALT.

CONTEMPORARY SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS are URGENTLY needed by a TOP NOTCH Music Placement/Licensing Company for a HOLLYWOOD FEATURE FILM. They need "sweet and sincere" songs (ala Brett Dennen, Jason Mraz, Josh Rouse, Regina Spektor) that would work well for a ROMANTIC-COMEDY camping scene. QUOTING THE COMPANY: "Songs CAN cross the line from Singer-Songwriter into LIGHT Rock or Indie Rock, but ABSOLUTELY need to sound MODERN AND CURRENT. NO Country hybrids, Southern Rock or Electro elements. Instrumentation should sound organic, not midi-ish or quantized. ORIGINAL songs only, NO COVERS." As always, do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. MALE or FEMALE VOCALS. AVOID PROFANITY. Lyrics should be UNIVERSAL, and AVOID specific references to names, dates, places, etc. The ESTIMATED fee for this placement is $5,000, minus 30% of the licensing fee. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights. You will keep 100% of your master, publishing and writer's share! Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine.) Please submit one to three songs online, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by a person from the licensing company. NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. ALL submissions must be received no later than TUESDAY, January 10th at 10am (PST). TAXI # Y120110SS

Congrats on the Forward. It's a great feeling. Enjoy. Now, get back to work :)

Also, this forum has been instrumental (pun intended) in my growth. Hang out around here, get involved and I think you will feel the same.

Cheers -

Way to go Salt! I got my first forward of the year today as well. It's an awesome feeling. I totally agree with the advice to get involved on this board. It's helped me a ton. I got sidetracked last year due to major surgery but now I'm so happy to be back. I also find TAXI TV extremely helpful. Keep working hard and learn from everyone you can. Most imporantly - write, submit, forget :D

Generally the taxi link is http://www.taxi.com/ and then your artist name.

Hope that helps. See my signature for mine.

Congratulations and I look forward to hearing the song when you get your taxi page link sorted out (it took me months to work it out!).
Hearing what gets forwarded is crucial!
All the best
Gary
