I just had my song "There is Grace" forwarded on this listing, which was great to hear! I had one other "Counterfeit Us" which wasn't forwarded. I saw somebody recently posted about wanting to hear what made the cut and what didn't so I thought it'd be helpful.

I feel like I'm struggling to balance the drums in my mixes, in particular, on - "There is Grace". I find I have a tendency to mix the drums too loud, but when I back them off in the mix, I feel like I start to lose some energy. Any feedback on this or suggestions how I can keep some of that energy without overpowering the track with loud drums? Or is it just me? =)

Thanks!
Tim

There are definitely some level issues on "Counterfeit,"
but I think the drums issue on "Grace" is their dryness.
A short reverb and taking the edgy high EQ down might help.

Congrats on your forward!

By the way, your Silent Night is lovely!

Thanks for the feedback. That's a good idea with the reverb, I'll give that a try and see if that helps them settle in there a little more.

Hey Tim
"Grace" is a great track. I really dig all the guitar fdbk ambiance!

Good job!

Congrats! Seems that they really wanted that contemporary...almost electronic vibe. Nice work. I agree with burpo on the verb comment, that would seem to help it sit in the mix a bit better, maybe a room verb of sorts. Just my initial thoughts though. Great work man!

Hey guys, thanks for all the positive feedback! Now that I'm thinking through it, reverb on the drums is starting to make a lot of sense. Especially on a track with all kinds of guitar ambience and feedback, it seems like the natural thing would be to do something to the drums rather than keep them super dry - Next time!
