Found out about these on Friday just as I was leaving the office on my way up to Kentucky to see my parents (took my mom her finished CD's and then Saturday took her to her first college basketball game, it was a blast )On to the forwards...LISTING #1:COMMERCIAL, CURRENT HARD ROCK SONGS WITH VOCALS in the range of Evanescence, P.O.D., Deftones, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, etc. are wanted by an established Music Publisher in L.A. who has secured TONS of Film/TV placements for many TAXI members. Lyrically, be sure there is no profanity and the tone should be universal enough as to apply to many different placement opportunities. Songs that are progressive but not TOO hard might get the most attention - all approaches will be considered, but a focused melodic structure might allow for a wider range of opportunities...I submitted 2 songs for that listing and went 2 for 2: 1) "Goodbye" - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=true2) "Won't Go Back Again" - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueThe first track was one I co-wrote with an artist named Eowyn and her producer, Travis Wyrick. The track is from her finished album and was engineered/mixed/mastered by Wyrick (Pillar, Disciple, POD, etc...). The second track was the collab track between myself and Audiorayne - http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... read=11213. Not sure if they heard our original version (http://www.bigbluebarry.com/player.aspx) or the re-mixed version (http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true) I did after getting some feedback from that forum thread mentioned above. LISTING #2:CURRENT AND COMMERCIAL HARD ROCK SONGS AND INSTRUMENTALS are sought after by an established Music Publishing Company that has had great success placing songs with companies such as Sony, Warner Bros., Disney, Lions Gate, ESPN, FOX, ABC, MTV, Paramount, MGM, Artisan, New Line Cinema, Miramax, etc.... just to name a few. You can think in the stylistic range of Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, P.O.D., System Of A Down, Slipknot, etc...I submitted "Won't Go Back Again" for this listing also and it was forwarded (Woo hoo Logan! We're 2-2 buddy!). The track that didn't get forwarded (in a bit of irony due to the song title) was "Will Not Be Denied" - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=true. As for why it was returned, here's a quote from the critique:""Won't Go Back Again" meets our requirements - it has the bottom end and strong, powerful musical foundation that "Will Not Be Denied" seems to be missing at the moment. That first song seems a little top-heavy and emphasizes the guitars and the voice to much - remixing/remastering could help."Which leads me to a question... "...meets our requirements..." - does that imply to anyone else that the screener was also the client? Need more... how about this other quote from the critique:"'Won't Go Back Again' works well for our listing in my view - good work."I believe I've heard Michael say before that some of the screeners will occasionally run their own listings for their own companies. I'm curious if anyone else that submitted to that second listing got similar comments?- Big Blueps - if for some reason the links aren't working, you can hear the songs on my profile page - http://www.taxi.com/barryfrench

Great news! I remember Won't Go Back Again...good stuff!I thought that if a screener runs their own listing, it might state that "president will be listening to all entries" or something like that.....not sure.

Great tunes Blue...way to go with the forwards! That tune with AR deserves to be on the radio, soaring through the universe, in my humble Earth-based opinion. That's got to be, what, a million forwards so far in your first year? 1.5 Million?Well deserved action my friend!!(I don't have any info on your screener questions, sry!).
