As we all know, when screeners are forwarding music, they are discerning professionals with impeccable taste. I wanted to share this wonderful "why they were forwarded" comment from the screener (who is now my immediate favorite)... ;)

Very impressive work. Pieces show a good understanding of modern scoring and programming techniques. Plus they were just fun to listen to!

The "fun to listen to" comment sent me on a high. That was very cool to read that! 8-) If he/she said that to all the forwarded members, don't tell me. :?

Here are the tracks (some of my most recent music):

"GO-TO" ORCHESTRAL COMPOSERS a la John Williams, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, etc. needed by a Los Angeles based Music Library that has had many television placements on popular cable networks. They're not looking to license tracks for this particular request, but hoping to find additional talented TAXI composers to add to their arsenal. ALL MOODS welcome: Tension/Suspense, Eerie /Scary, Action/Adventure, etc., They need PROLIFIC composers who can deliver TOP-QUALITY ORCHESTRAL cues QUICKLY and PROFESSIONALLY! Show off your REALISTIC orchestral samples and excellent PROGRAMMING in your submission. TAXI TIP: Show them you know how to handle a range of moods. Use a fresh, original approach Ð avoid overused musical clichŽs. But keep your submissions in the classic film scoring orchestral style the referenced composers are primarily known for. This library prefers working with composers who have some film/TV credits (although not required to be considered), so please mention any credits in your BIO Excellent performances are absolutely necessary. Broadcast quality needed (excellent home recordings are okay). To show your range, please submit two to three instrumentals online or per CD

Awesome Dave!!!

BTW: The last track's URL is missing the "/MyMusic/" portion to the address... but here it is for anyone interested in hearing another great (yawn) track from Dave "The MIDI Guru" Walton: http://www.DaveWaltonMusic.com/MyMusic/ ... reness.mp3

Wow, great stuff, Dave. I can totally imagine this being used in trailers or blockbuster movies. I knew ya when... (well, I don't really know you, but I have met you at a couple of Taxi rallies... :D )

Nice work, Dave! Really well-crafted and masterfully orchestrated.

I can just imagine the screener, impeccably dressed and coiffed, cognac in one hand, Gurkha's premier cigar in the other, stylish spectacles resting atop a noble proboscis, as he (or she) takes one last sip, engages the playback mechanism, sits back and feels a rush of pleasure - in a discerning sort of way - as sweet sounds begin to fill his (or her) headphones.

I'm certain this is how it's done. ;)

Again, fine work. Good luck!

Richard

Yep, that's the one that forwards the music. No doubt. 8-) I had a co-write recently that was returned. I'm pretty sure the screener that returned that track looks something like this... ;)
