Hey all. I've been heads-down for a bit concentrating on production. It seems to be worth the effort. This is the second forward I've gotten this month on this tune. Hopefully the recipients will like the tune, too. Here's the meat of the listing:S081119RKCURRENT-SOUNDING ROCK SONGS IN ALL STYLES, ranging from Modern Rock to Pop Rock to Hard Rock, are needed by a Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements. This company has fantastic relationships with music supervisors for TV shows/films on ABC, NBC, the CW, HBO, Disney, MGM, Sony, Fox, Paramount plus many others, and has already signed a dozen TAXI writers. You can think in the very wide range of Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, Nickelback, Evanescence, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Oasis, Muse, Radiohead, etc. As you can see, the range is hugely varied here and the approaches you submit will be considered accordingly. The bottom line is that the songs need to sound radio-ready and the performances/recordings need to be excellent! Male or female vocals are fine for this one. No profanity or uncleared samples, please, and Broadcast Quality is required (excellent home recordings should be just fine). Here's the tune: "Die A Little"And here's the text from the critique:Ratings: (9's and an 8 for vocal)Great chorus, melody, lyrics, all of it got me! The song progresses nicely from section to section with one exception; Take a look at the transition from the 1st full chorus into the 2nd verse, it seems like the 2.5 measure walk is lacking maybe a counter melody segue of some type?StyleThis melodic Pop Rock track seems to fit within the parameters of this listings requirements fine.Overall CommentsHey Jonathan -Nice effort here, as I said, I really found the chorus to be quite infectious (see memorable). There were just a couple of tricky spots where I think if you were to go back into it you might find room for improvements but nothing that really detracts too much. Like I pointed out, the lead into the 2nd Verse seems like it could be made just a little more interesting or purposeful somehow. Also, watch the vocal lead into the bridge section, the entry sounds just a hair unsteady, like you were searching for the exact notes, which you then found going into the 2nd line. I may be nit picking, but just wanted to encourage you to do your best.Sound QualityDecent sounding production!Main Reason for ForwardThank you so much for the chance to hear this track! In my opinion I think the there might be something here for the parties associated with this listing to find of interest, enough for a forward at least. Thanks again Jonathan, keep up the good work - all the best to you in the future! Thanks to fellow dots who unknowingly inspired me to keep pushing for better-sounding tracks. Your stories of forwards with links to the tracks helped me realize that I had to get better-sounding stuff in order to play. Thanks!Jonathan
