HIP/CURRENT COVER ARRANGEMENTS OF POPULAR DISCO SONGS, much like Cake's version of "I Will Survive" or (though a bit outside of the "Disco" tag) Alien Ant Farm's take on "Smooth Criminal" are needed by an established Independent Music Publisher. This Publisher has signed dozens of TAXI writers and has secured tons of Film/TV placements. The President of this company will be screening these submissions himself. He's not looking for exact or even close replicas of the original version, but rather very unique and current/modern arrangements in various styles. Any contemporary style will be considered, but the original song must be easily distinguishable while also having a very unique and relevant sound. Male or female vocals are fine, but all performances must be excellent and recorded at Master Quality - no uncleared samples, please. He splits the license fee with you 40/60 [that 60% is for you] and doesn't take any publishing. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by October 24, 2008I’m posting this forward, not because I think it demonstrates where the high bar is. Because it doesn’t. It’s very simple and amateurish in many ways.I had a stab at Sister Sledge’s ‘Lost in Music’ ….I really only think it got forwarded because it satisfied this requirement in the listing: He's not looking for exact or even close replicas of the original version, but rather very unique and current/modern arrangementsI’m not very good at reading listings. After two and half years with Taxi, I still frequently get them wrong. But I took a chance that if I got the ‘different’ part of the listing right, then I might get away with the simple performing and mixing chops. Turns out, for once, I was right. So I guess I’m posting this for those of you who aren’t great home producers or mixers. There is hope for us!http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueThe (brilliant) is original herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5lzsx3KzBQPS Apologies to the pianists here (Orest, Mazz, Bill Gordon and others) for my quantised effort!

Congratulations Liam!!!!The track has a very cool Leonard Cohen vibe to it (except you're a better singer ).Well done indeed!!!!!!! Sadly, I can say that I remember dancing to the original in 4th grade. But hey, long live Nile Rogers, the best rhythm guitar player ever!!! Best,Cisko

I was dancing to this in 7 th grade!!!I dunno about Nile being the best. But he is my favourite. Definitely my favourite guitarist, rhythm or otherwise. And Bernard wasn't bad either!
