I haven't submitted to anything for over a month now... Can't afford to with launching and touring my album (starting today EEK!), so my last few submissions are trickling through... There are still 2 listings that I am waiting on... Today though I got quite the little confidence boost for this listing:S081020SSHIP, CURRENT SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS in the wide range of Regina Spektor, Feist, Bright Eyes, Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Kate Nash, Lily Allen, etc. are needed by a Major Production Music Library who has one of the most impressive and successful catalogs in the business. This is an excellent opportunity to secure high-profile Film/TV/Ad placements. The bar will be quite high on this one, so be sure that the performances are excellent and the songs are solid. Lyrics should be universal enough as to apply to many different scenarios and it's suggested that the tone be on the lighter side and not too sad/melancholy for this one. A quirky or left of center, very unique sound will attract attention - different and ear-catching, yet still accessible. Please, no profanity and the production needs to be Broadcast Quality(excellent home recordings should work).I hadn't received any 10's until now, and I got a bunch of them! I also Had my songs Half Full, 3rd Person Female and Full of Fire forwarded.Half Full got one 8 (the lowest mark on the whole sheet!) two 10's and the rest 9's and this comment:This is great. Intelligent, strange and poignant. Great work.3rd Person Female got 3 9's and the rest 10's and this comment:Great voice brother. Love the higher range you can hit with no effort. Lyrics are brilliant. Tragic story line is nice and consistent. Love the weird piano outro.and Full Of Fire (which has got some good scores, but had a few screeners say it is too long @ 4:40 and the instrumental break is too long) got two 9's and the rest 10's.Oh my God what a great song! The lone guitar break at 1:17 made my jaw drop. Your mustache now works - congratulations! Love the Nick Drake style violin accompaniment. Lots of "because's" in there but what the heck - the song is brilliant. Arrangement is over the top. At 3:29 is another jaw dropper. Two in one song - not bad!overall:You're great Dom! A great artist. I'm a fan and would buy your record. Congratulations on being forwarded - and good luck.main reasons:Forwarded - such great material.haha. OK. I've enjoyed that long enough... time to go hand out fliers for my gig tonight so I'm playing to more than 3 people!
