Sousa-esque forward!
Put yer marching shoes on. I got forwarded on this listing:Y080718INBRASS MARCHING BAND INSTRUMENTALS a la John Philip Sousa are needed by a well-established Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements, including a lot of TAXI material that has been signed and placed. This publisher does NOT want actual songs written by Sousa, but rather soundalikes in the style of Sousa's marches. If additional instrumentation is used, please keep in mind that the brass section should stand out above the rest. Excellent performances are essential and broadcast quality is needed. This company offers a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than July 18, 2008. TAXI #Y080718INThe tune is called CK's Quickstep (the style is called a quick-step); I wrote it originally for a play about Billy the Kid, the thinking being that back in his day, many towns had their own town bands who'd play stuff like this, so it was used in the backdrop to help establish the time period...CK's QuickstepI want one of those big hats.

Well, I just love it when something I've had sitting for a while gets a new lease on life. Thanks for the kind words - that's the best part of the Forum. I feel like I've found my tribe, but more than that, for the most part people are so very supportive.

Excellent piece! I remember looking at this listing thinking that I did not know if I could write something like this. You did an amazing job! Congratulations! ~ Lydia

Thanks, guys! I kind of needed it; I had a couple disappointments with the minimalist piano listing. I went for the dark Glass angle and definitely not the sweeter Nyman thing (the Dark Glass and Liquid Glass pieces on my TAXI page). Got no love on those. So this cheered me up a LOT.
