wow, really nice stuff!!! Sounds like real drums, what a concept! Love the song, the vox and really all the performances. I'm a sucker for a great steel guitar part.a few nits (that's all they are)- Sounds over compressed and smeared to me; like the drums and gits were bussed through a real vibey comp/distressor. I like the effect but the lead voc and melody sounds more new country (I'm thinking Dirks Bentley), and those records don't get quite that heavy -- something to think about.- Find more space in the mix for the pedal steel!!!!Again, great tune, playing and production. Post up more!ErichYou guys are from the other LA huh? My daughter's moving to Baton Rouge next month to teach. I plan to visit her during duck hunting season -- know any good spots?

Hey Erich, glad you like the song. Thanks for the input. Feel free to check out the other ones as well! Yeah, as I said, I've still gotta little mixing left to do. Just couldn't wait any longer to post it! Our steel player just got a new steel this week. He's going to redo all the steel parts in this recording. As far as duck hunting, I hear there's some good spots in Tibideaux and Buras, LA. Thanks again!Blake

Blake,Good band sound on this recording. I'm also hearing the compression that Erich mentioned. Maybe some rumble in the drums (snare?) that could be gated a little. Like the lead and backing vocals. Production could use more dynamics, but if you give yourself more headroom off the compression, that'll probably follow.Vince

hey guys,i like this mucho, has a very good overall sound, my only comments to the neg are;--too long an intro (30+ seconds), this is a raydeeoh song, that's why i say this...--you go from a very cool steel electric c/w sound, to a very cool pure rock electric sound, i do hear the slide in the background, but with this production, it's more rock/pop than country musically to my ears (but hey,i'm old...) well, rock/country vs. country/rock?--the story line is a tad weak, i'd pump it up lyrically, you have many EXTERIOR images re: the cars, lights, etc., which are fine, but i'd like to hear some more "interior" images, from how you really feel. guts all over the place...--the chorus pound is well done for today's raydeeoh. works great.--because of the white line/interstate thing you have going on, have you considered a simple SWAP of the first and 2nd verses?--i dig the bridgevery good potential here, very nice work guys, that's all i got with 2 listens.all the best, warren

Very Nice tune, I hear the snare issue that Vince pointed out as well. The real thing I will point out is that the song has a confused identity, Its almost like Dirks Bentley stole Daughtry's band but brought a long a steelplayer, and the Steel player left the stage somewhere in the middle. So then the question becomes "Is this song to pitch, or is this for your own endeavors" If it's to pitch then I think you need to bring it into its own identity-either Country or Rock (I'd prefer the country direction and keep the steel, un-grunge the guitars a bit- un thrash the drums, etc..) or possibly make2 versions, ..... But aside from this its a very good song, good singing, and over compressed , Hope to hear some more from you guys, thanks for posting...
