I wrote a series of short tunes featuring ukulele, guitars and lap steel for a publisher a while back. I'm having a bit of a time trying to figure out how to pitch them now. Hi Erich,These are really happy and upbeat songs. I was reminded of a recent listing wanting inspirational, warm and uplifting music evoking kids playing, etc...These definitely have a kids vibe IMO and I'd keep these in store for the next time one of these listings comes up.Thanks for sharing,Al

reminds me of Spongebob! they have a Hawaiian island feel to them.

'When I'm With You' .... sounds HAWAII-COUNTRY'Paper Umbrella' .... sounds kinda like COUNTRY-JAZZI like them. I think they are unique. I remember when I thought it was good to be unique. Now sometimes I think it is better to fit in a box. lol Crazy.Dean

I second the SpongeBob, Maybe we need a new Category. For listing submissions I would think they both fit most comfortably in the traditional country instrumental , paper umbrella maybe in a Swing/Jazz instrumental listing as well. However if there ever is an Instrumental Nickelodeon section you are golden.

I think for Taxi listings I'd look for 'Progressive Country Instrumentals'. Of course 'progressive' these days amounts to traditional. The first one depending on the vocals could be something like 'Neon Moon' by Brooks and Dunn or if it were sung differently it could be like a Leon Redbone tune. Actually both could be Leon Redbone tunes. What are you using for the brushed kit samples?, they sound great.

Erich,"When I'm With You"--great to hear the natural instrumentation. Felt like the solos--lap steel, guitar--could be more present in the mix when they're featured. Genre = World Instrumental (or Hawaiian/Pacific), or anything that calls for upbeat instrumental."Paper Umbrella"--getting good mileage out of those brushes, eh? Sounds great. Bass could be louder--would like to hear it close mic'd like the drums. Guitar interlude was fairly quiet and understated. Was that a ukulele solo? Loved it. Same genre, I'd say, only because of the semi-unique instrumentation.You're doing good work. I'd probably be tempted to experiment with a slightly dirtier mix, just for grins.Vince
