hi guys and gals, here is the instrumental version, with the piano still the feature, both with cello bass line, higher range strings, timpani and tubular bells tolling later. many of these are my ideas/direction to Orest, but he implimented them very nicely IMHO. i like this change up for me.ok, shoot--in orange below is the website, titled Before My Time (instr)thanks for any comments.warren

Warren Lovely, very delicate melody. Just one thing to my taste: I would like to hear the other instruments a bit more. The are too far away I think?

thanks Laura--that's part of the delicacy, but i'm still "listening" on the volume levels, they've been tweaked allot, and maybe a bit of sitting with it for a few days and listening again, well i might have Alexander turn up the high strings, the drums a tad more and them bells--appreciate the listen! we're both burned out on this one for now, but the comments are very helpful...the best, warren

Sounds good, Warren. Two things I heard that I'd work on: - The piano sounds recorded up close (under the lid), while the orchestral instruments sound in a big hall; you might have Alexander experiment with the reverb setting (distance and amount) on Akoustic - Sometimes the piano release sounds unnatural; step one might fix that, or you might have to add a smidge more reverb (or play more legato) on just those partsVince

thanks vince--since i only write the melodies and wave the baton with my direction, even though i do know what you're talking about, i know alexander reads these production suggestions and will know more how to impliment in the future. i know he's about to purchase something called East West, and more production tools as well. actually i'm pretty lucky that he allows me to "play" with him with these instrumentals. he has pretty crappy work tracks to work with from this chimp. most of the instrumentalist here don't have the time to work with my ideas, and i'm WAY behind the learning curse in many areas. i'm just glad he does-- as i've really been able to expand my libraries with very diverse offerings other than my rock/pop/cw stuff...thank you VERY MUCH for the listen and comments. all the best, warren

Interesting, I was just about to write that the piano needed some ambience, and read through the reviews and saw idea already tagged that one. This is a lovely little piece. Only nit I might have would be to introduce more dynamics in the piece. Great job and thanks for posting this one up for reviewERich

thanks Erich, reverb was added to the piano, didn't want to repost basically the same tune...yeah, i'm not that dynamic a fellow--LOL--actually been accused of TOO much dynamics! i'm very new at this instrumentation stuff, so i suggest to my swedish friend in the best english i can, 'cuz i don't speak music very well... hell, i'm thinking about a symphony next!! uh, after i finish my folk song....at least i finally sat down and pounded out the rough just now....terrible.thank you much for the listen! all the best,, "does your dog bite?"wh

A new direction for the Hiensite man. What about all those lyrics I have come to love?Don't know much about this genre friend. It is surely pirty. If I was to change anything, I would nix the double notes at the very end of each refrain or whatever you call them. ( like at 24 seconds) I hear a single note ring there. A double note almost says it is replacing words. Don't know if you follow me or not. This will be really cool when you fill up all the background stuff. If ya got time, pm the chords to me, I would like to play along:) (experiment with some e-guitar)SincerelyPaul

thanks Pablo--will email them to you when i find them AGAIN...thanks for the words, and uh, it's basically pretty done for now, however, as far as words are concerned, i worked on a new tune for 4 hours today, hate the chorus and the chorus' words, the rest is pretty cool....we'll see.later my friend,wh
