Present:I just completed this track "Rock U" by Queen... and freshly recorded a guitar solo which borrows a riff from Brian May's solo in the same track... a solo inspired by a solo =)The submission due date is 20th so only 3 more days... any feedback would be really really cool...http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueor the 2nd track on:www.taxi.com/kostarPeace,KelPast:Am wondering about this listing...When they request for Classic Rock covers, does it mean we should be striving to sound like the original song/artist or could we modernize the sound/style for this listing?I'm wondering cos I did an Alternative/Industrial sounding demo of Queen's "We will Rock U" & am not too sure if I'm wasting my time polishing it up to send in this one...Anyone's thoughts about this would be deeply appreciated..http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueor the 2nd track on:www.taxi.com/kostarPeace,-KelCOVERS OF CLASSIC ROCK SONGS - VOCALS AND INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Music Supervisor of a major cable TV series. They're looking for covers of songs that pay homage to classic artists such as The Beatles, the Kinks, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Crosby Stills & Nash, Cream, etc. This series has utilized a few TAXI cover arrangements of popular songs from artists such as the ones referenced above before and they are looking for more now. Male or female vocals are OK and all tempos are finel. Excellent performances are absolutely essential. Broadcast quality needed - Great sounding home recordings are OK. Please submit one to three songs and/or instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by Monday, April 20, 2009. Hey Kel, this sounds great . . . I like it! If I'm correct this listing has run a few times for the same show in the past few years. I've had forwads for this where I tried to do an exact remake and others where I did my own interpretation. BUT my interpretation still sounded like the same era, that's what I thought they were looking for. Call Taxi and ask! and then come back and let us know what they said because Dave Walton and I have a cool Bob Dylan cover that would be great if they will take things out of the era-

Very cool, Kel. I like that you kept some of the lyric in there (shredded) and teased at first by not going to the chorus. I wonder if you can find a sting ending (no fade) that would do it justice.Vince
