"When I Get Back to Nashville"

Post by tedsingingfox » Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:24 am

OK, this is nothing more than me singing AT my laptop, so forget about "broadcast quality". But the fun part is that I have FINALLY gotten comfortable enough singing the words along with the guitar, and I wanted to let y'all hear it.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueWhen I Get Back to NashvilleI got no job, no money, no friends, no honeyThere's no way I can keep on living like thisThis one horse town has broken me downFeels like this filly has kicked me right in the kisserNo I ain't gonna miss herNow the car and the U-Haul they're all packed up to the gillsAnd I won't stop 'till I see those Tennessee hillsI'm going to be so happy when I get back to NashvilleI'm going to hug my family when I get back to NashvilleI can't wait to breathe the music in the airAnd find the love that's waiting for me thereWhen I get back to NashvilleYou know it tore me apart breaking Mama's heartWhen she begged me Tell me where're you running to, sonI didn't know where and I didn't careI only knew my soul was searching for somethingSo I hit the ground runningNow I've seen the world and done it all I got nothing left to proveSo I'm homeward bound, sounds like my smartest moverepeat chorusSo much time has passedI doubt it's going to look the sameBut I'm going to be home at lastWhere everybody knows my namerepeat chorus

Damn Ted!This is really - really - really good.To my liking I would like to see a couple of minor lyric changes, but that's just me wanting you to get over that high bar with this one.It sounds like so much fun to sing, and the melody fits perfectly with the title.Me thinks you have a serious contenda with this one, my friend.Bring it on home!much love,Cisko

Really? REALLY?!?!? wooHOO!!THANK YOU for saying that. I just wrote it so I would have some way of distracting myself until I actually GOT there. I bet I sing/play this one for myself 15 times a day...every time I get irritated, any time I need to calm down, etc. Thanks, Cisco.

Ted, this is just awesome. Fun, lively - and I bet it will 'kill' em at the Bluebird. suggest:You know it tore me apart breaking Mama's heartWhen she begged me... (not to ...leave my home behind)?H
