Heres one i just finished up.About the only thing of interest in this one is with theexception of the drums everything was played throughone time (with many re-takes to get there) and there areno overdubs. With the exception of the orchestra choruswhich was each instrument was played one time each,but then it was cloned twice and used in the other twochorus lines with added embelishments for each chorus.In other words, this is as 'live' as one guy can do. And well.. it kinda shows.. but still, I wanted to 'old school' oneinstead of massive overdubs and edits.Any advice on the mix in general would be appreciated. Hey 333,Happy to lend an ear (I have about 1 1/2 myself). I'd say you did a pretty good job on the mix--nice balanced sound and the panning is fine. It's well played, too. Production-wise, I'm hearing a slight battle between the organ and the vocal that could probably be fixed with some EQ on each track (carve some freq space for both). In the instrumental break, I think there's a similar thing going on and the organ is probably the culprit there as well (it likes to steal a lot of frequencies, especially with leslie efx or modulation--all those overtones/drawbars).Is the drum hit at the end some sort of "weird-outtake-but-leave-it-in-there-just-so-people-will-listen-again-and-wonder-about-it"?I think your experiment with playing live paid off--it actually sounds like a band!Vince

I'm on 1&1/2 myself Cool tune... mixing is not my forte so I have nothing to offer except it sounds great and I like the tune... got a little Squeeze(?) vibe... Brit Pop... nice...No offense meant if it's you but you might want to try another vocalist... don't know if the vocal works with the song... it's not bad... talking stylistically....Good job!!Peace, Geo

Just fantastic advice.. believe it or not I never thought of the Organ as taking all the space.. but it is so obvious now with all the frequencies and the revolving speaker etc etc.. Brilliant.. thanks so much.. i'll be remixing in the next few days and apply the thoughts here to the mix!

Hey 333maxwell!Nice tune! Good full sound, I might add. Whatever you're doin', keep doin' it. Yeah, I'd do something with that drum hit at the end, possibly eliminate that, as I didn't think it was really necessary. Just my $.02 though. GOOD job overall!ibanez468
