Thought I'd step a little outta my comfort zone & do somethin not Industrial so here's a "simple rock track"I may submit it for this listing depending on the feedback I get here... Pls be as critical as can be... I will appreciate Ur honest opinions ^_^ROCK INSTRUMENTALS from Classic to Modern Rock are sought after by a Major Music Publisher with distribution through a huge Production Music Library. This Publisher is also an Emmy-winning Composer for daytime television and this is a fantastic opportunity to be introduced to a Publishing/Licensing relationship as well as the possibilities of future composition projects with a VERY successful industry pro. Excellent original tracks, performances and recordings are a must! These tracks shouldn't be too dark or heavy - think fun, uplifting, exciting... a little quirky is fine for this one as well. This Publisher will be looking to sign 8-12 tracks for an upfront "buyout" fee that will be in the $2K range. While it will be an exclusive purchase of the material, this Publisher will not take any portion of your writer's share. He won't be looking for custom compositions, but rather a collection of "B" material - tracks that are laying dormant in your catalog. While we can be a bit more liberal for this one, you'll want to be sure that the tracks themselves are very well written and the recordings are Broadcast Quality. This material will be pitched primarily to Film/TV projects. Please submit 2-3 instrumentals online or per CD, but be prepared to send more if the Publisher gets in touch with you. He will ultimately be interested in signing 8-12 tracks for the buyout fee mentioned above. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than March 9, 2009. TAXI #S090309RKThe song is on my taxi profile, it's titled "R1) simple rock A"

Hey Kel,Took a listen...I'd change that 3rd kick hit in your intro measures. It just sounds off time to me and kills the groove.I'd also tone down the processing on your drums.Other than that...it's rock.

I love the guitar riff, it's very good and you get in on your mind. Maybe add a melody line in the "verse" not just chord playing. I think you need to tighten up the sound image as well. I think the drums are a bit outside with its own reverb/delay and the guitar/bass is more clearer and in front. I would use the same settings on the reverb on all instruments and than add a compressor/limiter to it to tighten things up. I must agree according to the drums in the intro. The drum beat destroys the groove, make it easier and let the guitar be the lead instrument.

I agree with RLD and Orest - getting rid of that wayward kick in the intro would be good, but also looking at your positioning of that swung kick in your normal loop might help. When you get everything on the groove it will all sound much more fluid, for very little actual change.Good start though.

Might just be me, but the piano sounds slightly out of tune relative to the guitars, which, oddly enough, makes the whole thing seem more real, to my ear-it's really not enough to be objectionable, because real pianos are stretch-tuned. I think it's great quality, and on target for the listing. One thing, if it's intended as a standalone instrumental, and not for use behind a visual, I think it needs a strong melody, a la Satriani or Jeff Beck. Thumbs up!
