Ok, here's the 2nd song that I'm planning on submitting for the following listing (the first one being "American Idiot"):POP-PUNK ARTISTS or PRODUCERS who can create a believable "band" sound in this genre are wanted by an Independent label with many releases under their belt. This label specializes in tribute albums, focusing on popular bands/artists in particular genres. For this one, they'll be looking for bands and/or producers for a covers project along the lines of Blink-182, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, etc. While the overall sound and abilities will be the primary focus here, it's recommended that you submit popular covers from one of the bands mentioned or another artist along the same lines. Original songs will be considered, however, as long as it's understood that this label is looking to hire acts to perform covers of popular Pop-Punk songs - not for an original release. Instrumentals or songs with vocals will be just fine. Be sure the demo recordings sound excellent and the performances are outstanding. Please submit 2-3 songs or instrumentals online or per CD, include bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than March 6, 2009.Same deal as "American Idiot" - It's an instrumental version. Any feedback as it relates to the mix would be appreciated. I did not get to spend as much time on this one as did the Green Day track before I uploaded it, so I expect this one may have a few more issues. All The Small Things -

I think you have a very clear production feeling. Every instrument is clearly there! Love the bass sound on this one! I can't find any issues on this one! Nicely panned! Perhaps a little EQ on the mastering in the high end, that's all I can say, if there is anything to say! Well done!

Big guy,I can't give you the full treatment like I did on the last one as I'm not familiar with the original.I will say that if I turn this up on my cans the guitars start to hurt my ears, which most pro releases don't.Snare sounds a little flat, but again I don't know the original so go with your instinct, which has been pretty good so far.

-Overall the mix sounds too 'brittle.' -Guitars are pretty wild here. Lows are 'BLOATED', particularly excessive mid-bass. -Highs are harsh at times, and definitely caused some ear fatigue. (and i wasnt listening very loud)The mix doesnt sound bad here BB, but could use about a half a-can-o' dynamic signal polish i thought. Level wise, placement seemed good.. Some EQ cuts here are there, and some dampening of the low end resonance bro.Nice start!

Hey BB.. yeah you already got some good feedback and Jamie was right on as always.. I'll 2nd Jamie and say further that drums in general are too dark and buried (snare very much so). If the drums could steal some of that high end from the guitars it'd be pretty damn close! Sounds nice though... as usual you've done your homework!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone. I just uploaded a newer version of the mix. If anyone has a chance to listen to it, any feedback is still appreciated. I think it's pretty close to being done. The guitars may still be a tad too "brittle" at times, but I'm going to give my ears a rest and listen to it again in a bit. For now, it's off to watch some Battlestar Galatica!!!! Be back in a bit...- Big Blue

well nice production. The drums are spaced well but feel really dryish. All its missing is the whiney 182 vocals haha. ummm the cymbals are annoying in the mix.

I'm thinking they may want an instrumental melody, here, if not vocals, but the drums and guitars are dead on target, IMO. Not sure, based on the listing, if they're seeking soundalikes for source music; if so, I'd add vocals in the same style. Nice work, B.

hey digging the new mix... guitars are pretty on.. a tad brittle at times but maybe that helps give them some aggression. snare is still tubby to me.. maybe low mids... I don't think the snare alone would make/break it getting a forward though.nice!

i think it's soundin' pretty good. Aren't there some harmonics missing from those little breaks (6sec mark)? i don't have the orginal to reference but i think i recall there being some.
