Hi Guys...I have an issue with genre here... is it kinda "Down Tempo" or something... or just AAA? So have a quick listen an tell me what you think... of course any and all comments welcomed... especially mix pointers...Oh... Geo, sound quality sounds fine to me. If I were you I'd edit this down for a sax instrumental, I think you'll have a lot better chance of a placement & some $$.

Thanks Bill....I had that idea while it was posting... the guy's name is Mitch Kaplan... his Dad was a well known RI Sax player and he's a chip off the old block.... unfortunately I've used up my freebies but do have 5 or 6 tunes I could try this with ...Always appreciated ...Peace, Geo

Geo, dont have a lot of time right now to give you an in depth review right now, heres a couple thoughts i had:You got me on the genre... I love the blend personally! I heard a little bit of 'Everlast' in there at times.. I was listening to it, and i immediately thought film/tv song. Sax is solid. You could probly edit to a sax instrumental, as well as pitch what you got now to a couple listings. In terms of mix, low end is all over the place. Primarily the bass, it really interrupted my listening experience. The acoustic guitar is too dark. The bottom of the AG and BG freqs seem to overlap to create a 'muddy' pulsing sound. The kick sounds round and punchy, vocals and everything else sound fine man, But the bass and AG distract, i think if you adress the low end you'll be at broadcast quality or close enough imo. Some qucik ideas for dealing with these elements i mentioned are:First drop the bass level a few dbs. Maybe cut some at around 100-120hz and 700hz from the bass, (Narrow Q) try rolling off under 60hzish or whatever sounds right.. Maybe a little snap at 2.5 would sound cool for this track.Try and make the AG brighter, this takes a little more time to get right, might try to give a little presence between 2-5k but not to overlap with the vocal clarity. For the intro i dont like the AG personally, id like to hear keys, maybe organ with some edgy attack tone-wise if you know what i mean. These are just a couple ideas, im not listening through monitors so im somewhat guestimating and giving you general octaves here.All in all, i definitely enjoyed the vibe and im still listening to it now. Clean up the low end of the mix, maybe play with intro a little, and i think you got a cool and versatile song here. Hth.
