Hi gang! Happy Lunar New Year!Well, per advice of taxi screeners..I have decided to dust offthe hard drive and kick myself in the butt to update this song which i have been meaning to do for a year.I have updated: 1. the Drums...as the screeners said they where "mechanical". 2. The piano, as it was considered reallymuddy. 3. mixing, mixing mixing including the talented Kim YoungEun's back up vox..which where too hidden in the last mixi would love to hear your comments, good, bad or otherwise!Holding Back can be found here:www.taxi.com/silvercordthanks allot~peacegeoff(new silvercord art..click me: )

I think this is well done, geoff--drums don't sound mechanical; piano not muddy; BGV is audible and rest of mix is well balanced. You didn't post lyrics, so I won't comment on that (not my strength anyway). I think you could add some power to the song if you sang an octave higher towards the end of the song. You're hanging down there in the lower-middle register, which is fine as the BGV covers the higher part, but I'd experiment with singing unison with the BG singer at some point in the song (assuming you can hit those notes).I like the guitar lines weaving within the vocal near the end.Vince

Thank 'ye for your feed back, Vince!!yeah i chose to not try to belt out those high notes that i BARELYcan reach and have the back up vox try to take care of that.my neighbors would be calling the police if i tried to hit thatoctave..: "hello 119!, what's your emergency?" ((thats 911 in Korea;)) "next door sounds like a banshee is having anatural birth banshee baby!" ; )some part of me actually wanted to force the chorus melody upthere to soar...but then im reminded that cats that dont havea huge vocal range riding in their cars like to sing to the chorus too; )

Hey Geoff,The production is superb, I guess my thoughts echo what Vince said about possibly getting the vocals up in a higher register towards the end of the song, but I might change my mind if actually heard it that way. It also might spoil the mood you're after, so I would be inclined to try it only if you can go back to the original. Anyway, I don't remember this before you fixed, but it all sounds great now.Cam
