Hey Canty, Great melody, it really moves you. I absolutely love the bridge. Great stuff. The only song by The Fray I know is the single on the radio. This seems to pretty much take on the same feel. I'm assuming you're trying to go for a Frayish sound...not an impersonation. I will say, I think your voice actually is more powerful than his; his seems to crack and break a lot. That would be my only suggestion...if you're trying to be a sound alike...to change your vocal delivery. If you're just tyring to be similiar to The Fray, then I think you're golden.Strong work.Andy

Thanks Andy..........the bridge is stronger than the rest of the song, IMO. I wish I could start the song with it. Funny thing is it was pretty much thrown together on the fly last night. Yea, I am just trying to right some modern piano rock type stuff. Not imitate. I really appreciate the compliments

Man, I wish I had your vocal chops & range! Yup, KILLER bridge . . . wish you could figure a way to sneak that in a little sooner!

Nice tune. Perhaps it is the mp3 but the voc seemed sonically thin and brittle. Ya got good range though.

Hey mcanty- I listened to this & then had a listen to The Fray over at my space. Your recording, at this point, sounds like a good bed track. You need some guitars, at least for coloring, and the track is a bit thin sounding overall. I'm not sure what you're using as a piano sound, but if it is to be your lead instrument, invest in something with more umph.Quote:I will say, I think your voice actually is more powerful than his; his seems to crack and break a lot.Your voice is good, very good technically. The comment above may have some validity, but The Fray singer has strong character. That may be something you could develop. You certainly have the chops; just need to find your own thing. This song isn't my cup of tea, (Nor is The Fray), but it seems a little too familiar to other songs of this type. At least until the bridge- That's a keeper, too bad it took so long to get there. Maybe a re-arrangement?Wade

Hi Mark,Not familiar enough with The Fray but just wanted to say I think this song has lots of potential. This is only a personal opinion of course but my main focus was on the word "it" as for me it's used too much and also I was focusing on the message of the song. The song for me seems to start off as though the singer doesn't want to "throw 'it' (=future plans) all away", then speaks of his 'pain' - then says "can't you feel 'it' in my touch" etc.... is that still relating to pain or is that now his love for her? Maybe I'm over analyzing but I just felt that "it" wasn't always clear and the overall message/music was sometimes "I want this to work" and then "Let's go our separate ways" - as I said all personal opinions but the song sounds potentially very powerful and good luck Rachel
