"Farewell" - Acoustic Version

Post by davekershaw » Tue Jan 20, 2009 5:36 am

Hi again fellas.I just re-acousticised an old track. It was originally acoustic, then I did an electric lead version a few weeks back. Some of you may remember it.It's 31 years old now! I've kept the backing pretty much the same.I'd appreciate any pointers you have to offer.Cheers,Dave.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true

back davie--hope i listened to the correct track, though you do have ALLOT of cool catchy tunes in there man--Farewell acoustic is what i'm commenting on...I LOVE IT...you know how i love melody....and the subtle strings back there are just splendidly simple yet effective.the ONLY THING i'll bitch about is probably a problem that only i have, as there are many who love it, and some who don't--and that's the fret noise in the chord changes in the back...i personally think if you can, try to "erase" as many of them without f-ing up the tune, but again, that's just my opinion...GRRReat job with the new toy my friend...warrenps, i liked the "electro" version as well BTW, but in that one the fret noise was even louder...but, again, don't take offense--hell if i could play that well with or without fret noise,,,,,lol but true...xoxo

Many thanks as always Warren.Yeah, I knew about the fret noise, but like you say some like it, some don't, so I didn't bother too much about removing it.Some say it sounds natural. I don't know!Let's see what the consensus is.Now you've pointed it out, I'll zone in on it even more!! Thanks for listening mate.

I remember this!Hey you know what, now that kitz mentions it, this does sound like an instrumental track of an Elvis song!I think this song would be good for the right listing. Sounds like you're getting some use from your new toy!

Please say that's all you mean!! Elvis just left the Taxi!
