Trying to assemble a few tracks for this listing:HAPPY/UPBEAT/FUN INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a successful Production Music Library/Publisher that has signed and placed tons of TAXI writers/songs over the years. This company will be looking for material that would be great for Feature Films and TV/Radio/Commercials. The tone can be quirky and comedic, light and airy, bouncy and silly, etc. Primarily, the focus will be on spare instrumentation that features clever dynamics and melodic "moments". The range is wide here stylistically, with the focus being on the overall tone. Nothing dark, dramatic or moody for this one — only happy and fun. There are no arrangement restrictions here, but be sure the instrumentation isn't too thick or lush. The performances/production must be excellent and the recordings need to be Broadcast Quality (great home recordings should be fine). Pieces should not exceed 4 min. in length and they need to have clear endings no fades. Please submit one to three pieces online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS — NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI — and must be received no later than February 6, 2009. I found this in my old project folder. The recording is pretty much doot; it'll have to be re-mixed and some of it re-tracked. I'm curious if this comes across as happy/upbeat etc. If not, does it have that potential and what changes would you all suggest to push it in that direction?Tune is called Slippery Slope:

Erich,I don't necessarily get "happy" from this, but it does have a fun quality for sure. And, looking at the other adjectives buried in the listing, quirky/comedic could apply, but probably not light and airy. I say go for it!Vince

Nice playin teleb,Slide part sounds really good! There is a noise in there like the slide hitting the fretboard that you can probably isolate and remove as it seems to happen mostly when the slide is not playing although I'm not really sure what it is. I like the tune - I don't know if it's as much happy as it is playful. "The tone can be quirky and comedic, light and airy, bouncy" I think it fits that - some spots are quirky and others are comedic and some are light and airy and bouncy to my ears. Bass maybe a tiny bit overwhelming in some frequencies but not real sure about that. Ending's good to me but I'm not sure if you meant to leave the solo drum part at the end. Just my dos pesos.Kitz

Hi, Teleblaster, Well, it sounds upbeat - but I see where your hesitation is. There is something questionning about it. It's not that simplistic. I wonder how it would sound faster? Also, it says in the listing "clever dynamics and melodic moments" - I read that as perhaps verging on cartoon fun? Bouncy and silly also could mean this. I think the middle is definately not fitting to the listing. Georgie

Cool tune. Hops and skips...maybe frisky? Great slide work and the rhythm is solid. Very good recording to my ears.
