Nice job, kitz. Sounds like it could underscore a tender moment on a WB drama, or be in an ambient collection, especially if underscored lightly with low strings to pad the chord.What did you use for the piano? Sounds good. It's slightly out of tune in the higher register, but not badly, and it made it authentic.There are a couple of places where the damper release was not clean, and others where it seemed released a bit early, but no big deal.Thanks for sharing.

Great to hear solo piano, kitz--special place in my musical heart for that. I also heard the damper and tuning issues jonathan pointed out. The crescendo that appeared starting about 1:19 was a bit harsh to my ears. There were a couple of instances where the timing wasn't quite right to my ears, and that stopped the emotional flow a little bit.All in all, a beautiful piece!Vince

Thanks alot Jonathan!! I used a yamaha upright with disclavier. I'll try and find the damper spots you speak of. This disclavier has 2 values for the damper - on and off - so instead of considering the real touch of the damper - it just kind of clobbers it in both directions. Had to spend a good deal of time to get it like it is now. Alas - not there yet.Vince thanks so much - that's exactly what I was wondering about the timing. Nice piece kitz. Played with emotion, and translates well. The recording had a pretty good warmth to it, but could benefit from a little more presence in the 'attack' freqs IMO. Also, might try a little cut around 250h-ish (very narrow q) to see if you can clean up a little of muddiness i was hearing when you got to the 'more involved' parts of the piece. Thanks Jamie! I had to eq out quite a bit around 4k with a wide q because the disclavier has a lot of computer alien sounding noise in it's circuitry. Will try the 250ish cut - Again Thanks Alot!!Kitz

Definitely artsy Kitz. Like a backdrop for a movie. I often here solo piano in movie transitions and this would fit like a glove.From reading this thread I get the impression that the piano is a synth but it sure sounds real.Technology just blows me away lately. Don't tell me they've built in imperfections in the tuning to make it more realistic.I got the sense that you were sitting at an old upright in your living room.Nice tuneage.
