High Tension/Suspense

I just submitted this to the following listing.HIGH TENSION/SUSPENSE INSTRUMENTALS for various Film/TV placements are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA and more. These instrumentals can be in a variety of styles, but they must sound current and contemporary. If you take an orchestral approach here, it's suggested that it be blended with current-sounding instruments with "edge" - Electronica or Rock elements could be a good choice. There is another listing for the exact same thing on Monday that I would like to send it to also. Any comments or suggestions between now and then would be most appreciated. The Chasehttp://

Hey Bryan!I'm listening with my el-cheapo computer speakers, but I like the sounds you've got and the stereo goodness. I only heard a bit of "electronica or rock" on the second tune. Can you throw some more beats under or wanky guitar over it?I like them both though!

Thanks Devin,I most certainly can through wanky guitars or beats on the second one. I'll listen to it again. I was hoping the industrial drum sounds were enough electronic flavor? Maybe not.

OK Bryan, I'm going to give you a lesson in READING... where does it say "high energy"...??? It says "high TENSION" Mmmmmm...School Report: Music A+ Reading D- Anyway, I will bet you a cup of coffee (which I will buy you when we meet in LA at the Rally in November) that both of these are forwarded. They're wonderful. I only had two minor gripes - in first piece the drum on the 4th beat of each bar sounds flat as in lifeless and I find it annoying, and the violins when they go REALLY high, sometime after 1.30, sound quite midi, but that's all that popped out to my ears. (other than I forgot my volume was on 100% and the first beat of the first piece nearly blew my eardrums... woops )Anyway, I'm awaiting eagerly to hear the outcome of these two...Keep on keeping on... you're winning. Georgie

Awww, I like my drum on the 4th beat. He will disappointed to learn that he has been fired. I'm not sure why they sound midi, cause I played with me own fingers, but maybe just the patch sounds that way. I'm also running them through a delay to smear up the sound. So the next Rally is in November huh? That's out in El Segundo CA right? I will definitely be going this year. And I will be expecting my cup of coffee! Thanks as always Georgie,B

Oh yeah, and watch your ears. I'm not afraid to open a piece with an obnoxiously loud drum hit. Make sure no one out there is sleeping when they should be listening!B

Hey, well hang onto that 4th beat drum hit if you like it.... YOU is the composer....The violin patch is the problem, such as it is, not your playing. Well I guess we'll know the date of this year's rally before too long... and details of place etc will follow. I love the opening of that first piece - love it that it's loud! You know Hayden's Surprise symphony?G

It's funny you said that. The surprise symphony was the first thing that popped into my head when I read your comment. I almost made a joke about it. Great minds think alike!B

Bryan,I listened to "The Chase" and definitely found it conjured "suspense." I didn't hear much "electronica"--you might be able to get that element from the right kind of percussion groove. The strings and horns sounded great.Vince
