This still wants drums, and I've got the jones to keep adding more more more...but I don't see any recording happening until after the holidays, so what the heck. Here's Andy, take one: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7162884Andy's HairAndy was a man who had long brown hairIt grew down to here and down to thereOne day when all his friends were gathered round and talkin' jive talkThey decided they could use it as a sidewalkSo come all ye lovers, come and take a strollDown Andy's long brown sidewalkIt's as fragrant as a vagrantAnd it doubles as a pavementIt's Andy's long brown sidewalkPeople came from miles around in socks and in sundressesTo walk upon his locks and on his tressesThat day when Frank Sinatra stepped upon it to sing "My Way"It grew so long it turned into a highwaySo come all ye truckers, come and drive your rigsDown Andy's long brown highwayIt's got Burger Kings and ExxonsEven places to have sex onIt's Andy's long brown highwayThen one dark nightThat was so grim and full of frightThat it made Bill and Cathy nervous, it made Sean tenseA strange semi painted redBecame entangled in a dreadWhere it jackknifed and emptied out its contentsAndy's hair it started growing like a rocket to the moonBut it didn't want to stop so soonIt flew on beyond the sun and when it grew past BetelgeuseThe space administration found another useSo come all ye Earthlings, come and fly awayOn Andy's transgalactic spacewayIt's for real, it ain't no flukeYou might even meet Jean LucOn Andy's long brown plastic spastic transgalactic spacewayCopyright 2008 by Mark Kaufman

Fun song Mark.Kaufman meets Nilsson.Reminded me of "The Point".I like the sound effects; especially the sex! Must say, I cringed when I heard "spastic".Had to check your lyrics to see whether I'd heard right!Obviously it has a different meaning in the States. You'd need to look at it though if it was ever used in the UK,unless you really wanted to court controversy and have it banned. Good vocals, performance and production.Dave.

Mark... I think all us "dots" may need to gather for an intervention... it's time for you to get off the goofballs! Truly inventive! It's an intense production from start to finish, though pretty easy to become engaged in. Not a great tune for the car IMO, as it *requires* you to pay attention to it and ignore everything else. Not sure what you're thinking with drums, but when you get back to recording you might try a variety of percussion instead of a kit all the way through... even using lo-fi methods of using household items and guitar cases as unique instruments. This song is already weird... you might as well go for it! But I'd keep the perc to a minimum when called upon... except where it goes a little crazier, of course. This is a wonderful freak show of a song, and you've brought in a TON of elements that play well with each other. I look forward to hearing this when it's all done!

Dave, I LOVE Nilsson and The Point too. I'll admit I thought the same thing midway through this recording, that it was sounding a bit like that, although I never thought it in the many years I played this song as a solo acoustic number.Oh-oh, what have I said? Is that derogatory for some handicap or other? Dang it...certainly not my intention...I just love that funny word. On the other hand, being banned sounds like a good PR move...Pat, if I ever see you and a dozen other dots in a room, it had better be at a rally, or I'm turning around and running. But yeah, now you know what a freak show it really is inside my head. I hear you on the percussion...I might actually get a coconut just for this purpose. Thanks Dave and Pat!

Yes Mark.Spastic Cerebral Palsy.Sufferers used to be known as spastics. It then came to be used as an offensive word referring to the disabled.I've not heard it used over here for many years.I'm not trying to make anything heavy of it. Just thought it might be of interest down the road.

I hear you Dave. Okay then, if I ever get a foothold in the UK I guess I'll have to change the line to "drastic elastic" or something.Doesn't that just figure...I love the word spastic.Come to think of it, did Ian Dury's "Spasticus Autisticus" get banned?
