Hey Cameron,I've listened to both a few times - I'd go with the slower version. The faster one makes it seem a bit rushed in places. Great song!Dave

ok cam--not THAT much different, but i listened to the "faster"one first, and dug it, then the "slower" one, and still liked it, but if you're not tricking us, i think the 'faster' one is the winner...and i listened to both 3 times, and i'll raise you a forward!! LOL...great job--one dumb question, the 5%, wher'd you get that? why not 10% for 8%--truly don't know my friend,all the best, my vote is # 2...warren

ok, i know how to explain it now on the 4th friggin listen--the first version sounds just a little too "careful" a little too "planned", a little too "deliberate"--if any of that makes sense after 4 glasses of wine...but i'm right...LOLxoxoxowh

After somewhere around 4 or 5% the vocals started sounding really rushed to me. Several people have suggested the song might sound better faster, and my critique said I might consider shortening it, so this could accomplish both. It takes 10 seconds off the length of the song (3:42 to 3:32).Really amazing to me how this can be done with software without changing the pitch of the song. If you try to slow a song down it screws up the audio, but faster doesn't seem to be a problem.Cam

Very well done song. To answer your question, i like number one better, honestly theres not much of a difference IMO. I listened to the slower one first.. so maybe my perspective would be different if id listened to the faster one first... Anyway, well done. CheersJamie

Cam,I listend to the slower one first and didn't get much of a different feel when I heard the faster one. I'd go with the sped up one, only because the song is not a ballad and therefore the higher tempo would probably appeal to more people. It's also two-steppable on the dance floor!Good song, BTW.Vince

Cam,The 5% faster is definately the better sounding and feeling version.BUT (im glad your a 1000 miles from me now so you cant throw something at me)I think I understand now what your reviews were saying about phrasing. In the middle verseThere is alot of space between lines and it feels like the singer is stumbling into the chorus.Towards the end of the song it starts to gel and really has some flow.I dont think the demo singer pulled this one off very well. He actually sounds uninterested in the tune. I dont feel any real emotion from his delivery. The production itself seems to be lacking some spice or something. I dont know if this is a pitch ready tune just yet. As usual your lyric and story are excellent. (again, it sounds like a Cam Earnshaw tune) Youve got yourself a bona fide style my friend. I dont feel that the demo performance all around was as good as it couldve been. After your other tunes "Same Shirt" and "Am I wrong" this one just isnt up to your own personal high bar. Not songwriting wise, just in production. The singer just doesnt sound like hes haveing fun and this is a fun song.Ill expect a shoe or glass being thrown my way some time. Just My opinion.M~

hey Cam, I didn't notice much difference. I from the school of "less processing is better" unless it absolutely makes something better. Sometimes little things like this sort of processing can come back to haunt you when other things are done to your song after it leaves your hands (ie; radio compression or pro mastering).
