Shake It Down

This is a collab with a friend of mine, he took care of the music bed & i did the lyrics/vox etc. We were shooting for a sixties garage vibe. The quality is suffering a bit but the current garage rock listing is an artist pitch (which is pretty strange!) so hopefully the quality won't be as important. I wanted to submit at least six songs to this listing so I'm still scrambling for a couple more. Do you think this one is worth a shot? It's called Shake It Downhttp://www.billgaunce.com/song/106

I like it! Very sixties groove-ish! The drums feel just a tad hot compared to the rest of the instruments -- or perhaps a bit bright . . . But very cool work!Nice job!Suz

Love this track! The only thing I think its missing is either a B3 or a Rhodes piano. Mix is really good but for 60's garage I wonder If you dont need to "Lo-Fi" it just a bit. Get that old tape sound.M~

I'd include it Bill. Go get 'em!I wonder if a guitar riff with a rotosound tremolo or something behind your hook would add or subtract? I wouldn't want it to get moved into a beach tune or an Austin Powers trip though...just my ramblings.

Thanks folks. I didn't have anything to do with the music at all but the people that did are pretty much "heavyweights" as far as garage rock goes so I didn't mess with a thing, just added my vocal ideas. (in fact, the instrumental version has been used in a movie before). I've been given a disc with 10 songs total that I can mess with . . . got 9 left . . .OH BOY!
