Charlie Brown's Christmas Blues

OK, I decided to take a break from "Disconnection" and work on a Christmas song I wrote last year. It's a jazz standard type piece and the inspiration came from Charlie Brown's Christmas Special and it's about having the holiday blues. The song isn't actually a blues in the musical sense though. The vocals could be better I believe although I did a few passes and tried to get a decent comp.I'm not really a good horn arranger so the arrangment is pretty simplistic and I believe could be much better.I feel pretty good about the song and the production I feel is close. Any thoughts or feeback would be appreciated!!
http://pleasurejunkie.net/charlie_brown ... mp3Charlie Brown's Christmas BluesWhile everyone thinks about what gifts they'll buyWhen little angels are placed on trees up so highMe, I hang my head down and sighLike Charlie BrownOh, Charlie, Charlie BrownWhy should you and me feel so downWhen everybody's laughing, singingEveryone but me and youWhy should we have the Christmas blues?Well, this is the season of hopeThis is the season of joyThis is the season thatFor no specific reasonMakes me and Charlie feel so blueOh, Charlie, Charlie BrownWhy should you and me feel so downWhen everybody's laughing, singingEveryone but me and youWhy should we have the Christmas blues? Is it because they are so happyThat makes us feel so sadOr is it because we don't understandWhat they mean when they sayThat each and every day should be like Christmas

Patrick, I'm pretty much blown away by this. The song is great but the production is really awesome! Love the guitar solo . . . & what are you using for a mic & pre? Your voice sounds really nice & smooooooth on this.

Thought I'd listen and be skeptical at first. But it grabs me instantly and holds on throughout. (Thanks for omitting long boring repetetive intros.)Chords were good, lyrics were good. I'll let the experts nitpick on production sound values. I just looked at song value. Keep it up.

WOW, thanks everybody for the positive feedback!!! It makes me feel really good to hear I'm doing something right on this one. Sometimes you spend so long with a song to where you can't tell whether it's good, crap, or just mediocre. I'll get myself all psyched up about a song and then after awhile I'm like "Who am I kidding.. this is sub-par." ha ha Bill, for vox I'm using a R0DE NT1000 through an M-Audio Omni Studio preamp. (I know.. how GLAMOROUS huh? ha ha). If you meant the guitar, I'm running direct through the Waves GTR. (Pretty damn good emulator... and I don't like a lot of 'em).Dave W, thanks for listening and cool on the Buble comparison... I think that's definitely the vibe I'm goin for.Dave K, ha ha ha... I hope you'll be stopping at my place when you're making your rounds! marc, it's good to hear some pos feedback on my voice since it's something I struggle with.Dick, I'm glad the vox very clear because I was worried they were too dull in the mix so I added some top end to them.Paul, is that my new nickname? ha habob3, well I was worried the song was a bit short but it sounds like trimming the fat was a good thing here. that's very cool to hear that the song won you over too!!
