Ok, here's entry number one in the "First Annual Vikki /Black Fri. Thankgiving Song Challenge" . . . me thinks we're gonna have to shorten the name.I have another that really sucks so I'm holdin' out on that one. however, if I don't come up with something better I'll "man up" & post it.Here's mix one of "You can't Change The Channel On A Dream"(I think that titles gonna have to be shortened too). This probably sucks too but not as bad as the other turkey I have in the oven.I'm assuming the vox will have to come up & the bass guitar down because that seems to be standard with all of my first mixes. Let me know what you think!http://www.billgaunce.com/song/100

You guys are killing me. I again gotta say, great job, you ought to be on stage, no shit. But how can you produce such clean, crisp, clear music unless you got a big old studio and a bunch of musicians man? I have enough trouble not tipping my wine glass over when i'm trynig to put a trash barrell demo down through my laptop with a single mic, a 35 year old yamaha accoustic guitar while sitting in my RV retired and traveling the country. You guys are amazig. And i gotta ditto the voice. I picture you to be in your late 20's-early 30's, tall, lean, black hair, kinda alternative looking but not in a detrimental way (in otherwords not an athlete) and doing this all by your self. How close am I?Cause i'm an old F^ckr, 57, retired, bad back, blown out knees, a big ol boy.lolDoc

Lastly, where is your website, you must have a bunch of good stuff or maybe even a cd?And feaker, tell me what exactly the bridge was. Yeah i know i'm a dumbass, i know. But this has come up and up and up and it's just not something i really know how to place. I'm not certain when they are using this term are they talking about a lyrical or musical bridge.Point out what it is so i can go back an read it or hear it, okay?Doc

and bill--damn good, as usual, you've met the challenge, as did paul! i didn't attempt it, can't finish nothing in a day or whatever the rule was, and too much happening right now...i understand how paul hears the chorus/bridge, as it is kinda "bridgy" on my only listen, but hey, two for one man...works just fine....great job again--the best, whps: did vicky post her tune, or was it just a general challenge, i read it, but didn't enter...

Still got a day left. Good one, Bill. No bridge, more of a pre-chorus, or what's sometimes called a 'lift'. Very modern. Are bridges passe, yet? Vocals sound more natural than the Petty/Dylan a las, no surprise. Tasty.

Thanks again everybody. Mojo, I think since we learned that the Taxi screeners listen "up to the bridge" we ought to just leave the bridge out. HA, that'll show 'em!
