Should I pony up the cash??

I thought I would put this out so some folks with experience with the Taxi process could give me a handle as to whether a membership at this point in my development makes sense, or whether I should do some more work on honing my approach.Here are two examples done in my living room. Is this "broadcast quality, sell-able writing/playing?I was lucky to get some outstanding players to come flesh out Children, and I want more. Nice songs Ernest.Real easy listening.I think there are issues with some of the production and vocals,but others are better qualified to help, and will get to you once they're up and about!Welcome to the forum.Dave.

Ernest, I think "children" sounds great & I really like the song & it sounds broadcast quality to me. "Hands" is pretty rough and isn't broadcast quality. Some of your others fall in the middle but sound to me like they're worth working on. Don't wannna tell you how to spend your money but wanted to chime in with my 2 cents on your songs-

Ernest,My assessment (I have 100+ songs in music libraries; I think they're broadcast quality): - Never Say Goodbye - Playing is good; heard a few minor rhythmic glitches; near broadcast quality; drums are not - I Want More - Not broadcast quality due to drum mix (reverb on kick?); lead guitar is great; other guitars are a little muddy; vocal is pretty good, pitchy and not "commercial" enough in some places - Children - yes, but realize that vocal will not be to everyone's taste (personally, I like it)The reason I had so much luck with music library placements initially is because I recorded nothing but instrumentals for a while. Lyrics/vocals raise the bar considerably. Since you're quite good on your instrument (I assume that's you playing the guitars), I'd recommend this approach for you, unless you are looking for an artist deal for yourself (as a vocalist).I won't tell you how to spend your money. About 60% of my deals came via TAXI.Good luck!Vince

All except children was done in my living room, and I am by no means an engineer, and barely a vocalist/player.I'm learning though, and since I have about 4 hours worth of stuff in the can, I have plenty to learn on.Thanks for your thoughts.
