Here's the listing:DOWN AND DIRTY/HIGH ENERGY HARD ROCK/PUNK SONGS AND INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Music Supervisor for a few new reality shows by the creators of "Jackass" and "Rob and Big". While he'll need a variety of song styles over time, he has an urgent need for really wacky, frantic, adrenaline-pumping, left of center and fun uptempo Rock/Punk/Metal songs. Musically, you can think in the range of Suicidal Tendencies, Social Distortion, System of a Down, Slipknot, Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Nine Inch Nails, Demented Are Go!, etc. Lyrically, there are no limitations but the tone should be off the wall and a little twisted for this one. Instrumentals will be considered as well as songs with vocals. Performances need to be great and the tempo/energy needs to race. Recordings must be at Broadcast Quality, though excellent home recordings should be just fine. We'll need to be pretty selective here, so make sure to send in your BEST 1-3 songs online or per CD - include lyrics if applicable. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon PST on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Like all the guitars, but the solo's sound just a bit quiet in places. Maybe it's the hard pan on the rythm tracks, but a few of the solo's are quieter than the background (check 1:25-ish for example). Great hard stop at the end, that's always good...how hard would it be to dice this into segments? The first pseudo stop is around 0:31, so that should work out? They should have changed the font on that listing to Big and Blue, 'cause that's what is going to happen when the confirmation e-mails come in.Not only do I predict a forward, but when they call, I bet you send them a handful of extra tunes to use too. All that stuff you scored 10's with 6 months should be sent immediately to print!

BLUE!!!!Maaaann! You got this thing SLAMMIN'!!! This is definitely SUPER high energy dude! I almost thought about breakin' somethin' for a minute there! Those chords @ :29-:32, 1:19 -1:22 and at the end are totally whack man (I mean that in a COOL kinda way)! I like 'em!! IMO, this meets the criteria presented in the listing. Dang this song REALLY cooks around 1:48...dang dang dang!!!!!Do NOT expect a Christmas card from my insurance company this year. The furniture store, however...As always, I'll post what I think, out here in the open, so the other good folks can refute what I say if I'm offside.After listening on two sets of headphones, one set of medium price speakers, and two soundcards:For the three guitar parts I'm hearing, there is rythm, lead, and solo (solo's most prominent in two places, starting @ 0:34 and 1:24). The lead parts are plenty hot, even before they are doubled up. The solos seem just a bit quiet by comparison. I don't know if the lead should come down (I'd explore that first), or the solo's up, or both.And it's just barely noticeable Blue...I think this mix is really getting close. In fact, I'd visit it only once more, and if you don't hear anything whack, then you're done. I'm sure it will go through as is!It's certainly cleaner and punchier than my stuff.
