Hey all,I'd posted work tapes of these two songs in the last few weeks and just got the pro demos back from the studio. Too late for major changes but any comments about the mix are welcomed as I can perhaps still change levels.Cold Feet -

http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueIn Same Shirt I fought verse/chrorus differentiation and finally just asked the studio (Jimi's) to see what they could do when making the demo. I'm not sure what all they did as the singer took some liberties with the melody throughout, but it sounds good to me now.Cameron

Sounding good Cam! I think of the two Same Shirt has the biggest commercial shot, it really will be perfect for an ala Buffett listing. I personally like cold feet better & I think the vocalist has a cool Johnny Cash vibe, just not sure about pitch potential. I think the studio did a good job, you should be pretty happy with your effort!

Hell yes!!Same shirt is way cool. Havnt listened to cold feet yet. This could be Blake Shelton right along with "Some Beach".You got a great one here my friend. The singer did some excellent embellishments.Really happy about this sound!!M~

Thanks Bill and Matt. I'm really happy with how they turned out, with a few small exceptions. After listening to my own work tapes a few hundred times (or so it seems) it takes awhile to get used to any changes the studio makes, but I've learned that given a couple of days most of their changes are usually for the better. The instrumental in Same Shirt is quite a bit different than what I was expecting, but otherwise they did pretty much what I asked for. I think the studio (Jimi's) gave both songs a nice groove.I kind of like Cold Feet myself but agree that Same Shirt is probably more likely to find a home. There seem to be more traditional country listings of late, so who knows? The trick is to sound "traditional" without sounding out of style.Cam

camVery refined and appealing. Both very good. Same shirt is "catchier"Nice voice on the dude, but I do not like how he doesn't carry some of the notes in the verse."Up" and "cat" fall off poorly, but" that" holds fine. In the chorus, he holds them well?I know that threre isn't much time to hold the note there. Just a thought. I also know it is a done deal for you.Everything else to me is excellent.too picky Paul

Really great Cam!!!The only thing I can critique and it may not be an issue:Same Shirt - Vocal - hi end is a bit too present for my taste. Maybe in the 7k range. Words like six and trix, stay, ice. Love the snare sound!! Other than that PERFECT! Both songs are GREAT!!!!!!! Kitz

R-man - Thanks. It's not as smooth as your Bob James vibe, which of course was smoother than strained butter, but I'll take it! Yeah I love that guitar solo in Cold Feet.Paul and BB - Thanks for the feedback! It's good to know which one is the "catchiest" so I know which one to put first on my demo CD.Kitz - Thanks... glad you liked 'em. Yeah I hear that high end too. I just got new tweeters installed in my Jeep and even with my deaf ears it's just about painful when he says "Same Shirt". I didn't notice it so bad through headphones so I thought it was just the new tweeters.I guess Jimi's going to use one of these demos at her studio's booth at the Rally, alongside my original work tape, as a "before and after" example. Ya know, one of those "hey, if we made something out of this POS imagine what we can do for you!!" (Just kidding Jimi... I'm glad to have the exposure for my song). Thanks again to all who responded.Cam

Hey, Cam, somehow I missed this thread. I think 'Cold Feet' is great, but I think it would appeal more to the alt-country market since it's got a retro Waylon vibe going for it. I just LOVE what Jimi did with 'Same Shirt." I think that would be a perfect Kenny Chesney pitch...good luck with it! I agree with Bill...it's a great commercial country song.
