Hi guys.Last week I had 50 seconds of a slightly wierd demo that some of you commented on. I did some more work and would like your input. This dark unusual style is so far out-of-character for me, but once I started down this path, there was no turning back. Really, I don't not have any of these negative thoughts:)Tried to use a raspy desperate vox that worked ok in the first verse, and wouldn't you know it, couldn't pull it off the next day. That's what you get when you make up a song as you go?Will have my buddy sing it eventually.I know the bridge is missing. I think the chorus could have one less line to provide more room?I promise after I completely finish this, I will go back to happier thoughts.Once again, I have to point you to my homepage. Thanks for the patienceThe song is "would you miss me"Paulhttp://
www.taxi.com/feakerWould you miss me I don’t wanna live no moreI don’t wanna face the dayI don’t even wanna talkI got nothing much to sayMost the time I feel so down and all aloneI need a little companyBaby can you take me homeWould you miss me.. if I never come aroundWould you miss me.. would you search all over townWould you miss me.. do you think I’m near the endWould you miss me.. do you call yourself a friend. No one out there really gives a damnI ain’t very big on friendsI don’t need them anywayI got nothing goin onSometimes I stay in bed all dayDays are awful long the nights are all insaneSomething gotta changeThis voice goin on inside my brainYou’re not gonna miss meNo one’s gonna miss me at all

Paul, of the songs I've heard of yours I like this one the best. You have the makings of a good ol' fashioned grunge song going on here. Just keep at it!

billEach time I listen/work on it I get a different impression. One time I will say " god that is just awful" and the next I will say " that sounds kinda cool". I am however presently very sick of it. So much room for improvement yet. Thanks for the chatPaul

Paul,Congratulations on working it through with a goal of completing the song! No, it's not my preferred type of song; it's too dark, and not my kind of melody line or chord structure. But it does have a point of view and paints a picture. A sad one.Did the chords you came up with drive the lyrics here, by chance? Or did you set out to write a sad song about a sad person's struggle?

gMy wife hates it. She has this big frown and asks "why would youwrite something like that"I tried to explain I was trying to expand my mind without drugs:)Gotta do what ya gotta do.When you put 40 hours on a tune, it deserves at least a little ride.I did place the chords first and, like always, just started singing lyrics out loud to try and establish a melody scheme.ThanksPaul

Can't get one right, then move to the next and back. This new one's taken weeks to get right, and it still ain't there!I've even gone back to tweak up one I posted, and got the thumbs up for, weeks ago! The more I'm learning, the more I'm a'hearing!!
