WELL GUY'S...Here's my second attempt for a latin type listing...I just love Latin Music, but I really never took the time to scope out the way things really go down..But I can say ...After (15) hours on this track, I had fun...I think it's more Latin American, but I have to send it in tonight...Just wanted to know ..Is this piece (15) hours for nothing.. Cause my brain was burning on this song.... WELL ENJOY ANYWAY.....R-man.... LATIN INSTRUMENTALS IN ALL STYLES are needed by a Production Music Library. This company caters to clients in Advertising, Corporate Film and TV. Excellent performances with an authentic approach and tone are what's needed here. NO VOCALS for this one, please! Traditional Latin styles will be considered as well as a more Pop/Contemporary approach. These tracks are needed for Ad campaigns primarily, so the tone should be one that is upbeat and "feels good". A compelling and attractive overall vibe is necessary, so no sad/morose/melancholy compositions/arrangements. Fun, light and exciting would be a better approach for this request. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by September 29, 2008. Hey Jay! Very solid piece dude -- now, does it fit the listing?Well... I'm not sure that in its present form that it would be a fit for me. It's close though! While this song is cool... it's a little busy. To retain the "lightness" factor, I would take out the lead horn patches (they're a bit heavy and not really the greatest samples IMHO) and see how it sounds without it. If you don't think it has enough going on, try adding the lead to the piano for that first section if you can.And there are 3 or 4 lead instruments throughout... on top of a very full sound already. I think all of your other lead voices fall into that "lighter" tone though, so you should be ok... But I might play around and see if you can strip it down just a bit here and there for a cleaner sound. Hope that helps Jay man, and best with this piece!

senor rapido beep beep--you are getting versatile my friend, very nice perc, rhythm. i like the way the organ plays back and forth with the trumpets man, and yes, i like the variation of all the "solos" in this, like a live jam session. i dig this tune. i don't know about my friend zoomster's "busy" comment, (he's usually right though! LOL) but i think in the latin styles the production's do sound a bit busy and i'll just call it...uh...uh(thinking here...) oh, ill call it "happenin". i don't have a problem with the mix and the cluster of instruments here at all. JMHO. i'm no ricky ricardo man--LUUUUCYYYYYY! but r-man, this tune to me don't have no "splaining" to do. i dig it..now don't ask me about this listing--it's only one of my downfalls my friend.i dig it, it works just FINE for hein.the best, warren

hey there..The intro is working against you because the drum sound isn't right, and it points it out too much....I'm with everyone on the horn sound not being right, yet...Also I would stereo expand a few tracks, so there's more spacial plain......the midi needs life, and the eq's sound too "the same" with the instrumentation....composition works for me, but the sound doesn't quite cut it yet...where's the low end...I have my subs on and can't hear or feel anything......percussion needs body in the sounds......piano sound...needs a little help,too...hope this helps,...and I'm not being too tough on you....vtbp

Hey Jay, like vtbp said , crank up that low end dude! I like it, the lack of low-end is really my only beef.

Well, while technically not exactly a Latin tune, it sounds close enough. Given the broad nature of the listing (plus the fact that they said they would also want to hear pop/contemporary stuff) then it may fly. That's as far as genre goes. Others have commented on the technical stuff and I agree with those comments (especially the lack of low end). The only one I would add is that perhaps the hi-hat needs to be notched down, when playing at low volume pretty much the only thing you can hear is the hi-hat. The trumpet sound that comes in at about 1:15 sounds way too fake to my ears, if it was me I would either find a better sample or make it a more synth sound to make it clear that you were not trying to sound like a real trumpet, it's those in between sounds that can make it sound too fake sometimes. But that last point is really a matter of taste, if that's the sound you're going for then stick with it.HTHAntonio

HEY CAM.....Yes that is I playing the whole thing...I'm a old Hammond B-3 and Fender Rhodes player trying to be in the present. To bad I can't cut the mustard on Horn Latin Pieces.Every time I do one and post, the forum just cuts them to ribbons.I pick out the most authentic sounds, and in my ear they sound so realistic that I'm jumping up and down. But when I post It most say ,not good patches..Go figure..I noticed u didn't comment on the song, so I'll post it for u and u tell me what u thing....Be tough..thanks for listening ...JAY....http://www.taximusic.com/download/17252 ... mental.mp3
