Hi everyone this dispatch came up and I was wondering if you all think my song Heart To Heart would fit the bill. Thanks mBhttp://
www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?ba ... T-SOUNDING ACOUSTIC GUITAR/PIANO INSTRUMENTALS are needed immediately by a Music Licensing company run by a veteran of the industry, for various Film/TV placements. A current sound is requested and a primarily solo/acoustic sound is what is most needed here. It's okay if there are a few background instruments in the mix, as long as the main focus is on the acoustic instrument that's featured. A variety of moods will be considered, as they'll be looking for tracks that are appropriate for dramatic Film/TV scenes as well as light/happy/comedic scenes. They'll also be interested in some that are heart-warming/inspirational/romantic. All tempos will be considered, but ballads to mid tempo will be most desirable for this one. Instrumentation is open - just be sure the sound is simple, acoustic and not overbearing or imposing dynamically. Your tracks need to be 2-5 minutes long and be of the highest quality - they're looking for exceptional instrumentals and performances. Broadcast quality is absolutely essential. They offer a non-exclusive deal where all profits are split 50/50 between the company and the writer (you keep your copyrights). Please submit 1-3 instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 10am PST on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. TAXI #D080916IN

Mild Bill! What worries me with this listing is the emphasis on "a primarily solo/acoustic sound is what is most needed here". This is why I struck this one off my current list of possibles, because I'd need to hide MY guitar under a bushel of strings pads and horns which loses that "solo/acoustic sound" which I tend to interpret as meaning the two instruments, nothing more. Or nothing much more, anyway. The pads DO give it that "current-sounding" feel, which would be real trick with unadorned acoustics...But I think this is one of those cases where you could throw the $5 in the hat and see what jumps out. The time spent agonising over whether to or not has probably cost you more than $5 already!Must say, I could be verrrry jealous of Heart to Heart were I not possessed of remarkable self-control. Verrrrrrrrrrry jealous....

Thanks Tadpole If you really want to know the truth it's the rejection that hurts me a lot more than the 5 bucks. If they are looking for music that is primarily a guitar / piano piece this song would fit what they want. If this is not what they want then they ought to credit my back the $5. PS Believe me you have nothing to be jealous of my friend your music is great. mild Bill

Thanks! The guitar is a 40-year old Martin D-28, but I mixed the mic'd signal with a Dean Markley soundhole pickup thru a tube preamp. The midi sound is from an outboard Emu Proteus 2000.I'm guessing it won't pass the "...not overbearing..." critieria of the listing. But it was a fun experience to work & rework the arrangement between the 4 themes and two instruments. But more-over it was a exercise in adding compression, EQ and reverb and then doing the volume and pan mix. BTW, the song is in 17/8, but who's counting?
