I Felt Lead
Acapella Intro)
Fell in love... with a backwoods girl
V1)
Wudda full-moon night... sky was all lit up
Mirrored stars... in the hood of my truck
I prayed and prayed... that she would say "YES!"
Time to pop the question... right then I guess
Bridge 1)
What went wrong? I was so sure
Thought I was led there... by the Lord...
V2)
She was in the swing... on her daddy's front porch
I got on one knee... by the light of a torch
And as the words... fell out of my mouth
Her gun-totin' Pa yelled... "NOT IN MY HOUSE!!"
Chorus)
I felt lead... hot lead... comin' from a shotgun blast
I felt led... but instead... got this burnin' in my ass
Fell in love... with a backwoods girl
Shoulda taken more time... to confirm the Word
Instrument break
Bridge 2)
It's an overused cliche'
Like "makin' love" 's a "roll-in-the-hay"...
(Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!!...)
Chorus
Tag

Fell in love... with a backwoods girl
Shoulda taken more time... to confirm the Word!

Really Rough and Tough crowd!!! :D  :D
Peter, your recording quality is getting better all the time.
You definitely need a few more instruments building to help keep the ears into it...
The other thing I would ask for is that you get the verses more conversational/natural rather than always landing on the ONE
@ 1:40 something has to take a lead for that section otherwise it's redundant, I'm sure you hear it.
Tighten up the opening Background Voice to the lead vocal, it starts the song off with an unpolished feel.
I know it will take a lot of work to get it to a broadcast level, but you can do it.
I am amazed at how much you have accomplished! :D
Good Going!
Sincerely,
Cass

Not totally conversational but tends to land on the ONE for the first and maybe second verse then lets 3 & 4 flow

This was the 1st raw take within the limits of a brief session. It will get:
fiddle, steel guitar, B3, acoustic piano, Telecaster, real singer(s) and many tweaks, no doubt; as it goes through the Nashville-style production... like others of this album collection in the works:

Thanks for the listen and comments; objections noted. :? 8-)

Peter

What am image:) Really got shot?

How about a little banjo in there?

Like some different words at the end of the chorus??

First harmonies need some sharpening.

Acoustic sounds good.

You are one of a kind for sure.

Had a smile on the whole time

sincerely

Paul

Thanks Paul...
I've got a good singer lined up to 'cover' my a**...er, uh.. mistakes
when this goes to production.
Did you find the hidden message in there? :?

(ok... so my humor's a bit bent...)

Lovely guitar. Vocals at times a little off key. Love me some Oak Ridge Boys. Thats a hard act to follow. Yes banjo would be cool in this. drums and everything seem tight. Got to love that guitar. Sweet. 8-)

Thanks for the listen, El Gav -
maybe I should be more careful about either:
better disclaimer descriptions for posting such a raw vocal track...
OR - wait to get the pro singer parts, and not post works-in-progress.. :? :?:

Also: yours is the 2nd suggestion & vote for a banjo part; so, I'm tending to rethink and agree;
mainly due to the whole "backwoods" and "porch" pieces of the lyric. So... thanks for that, too.
good points and food for thought.
Cheers.

Thanks to comments, input from forums folks, this one got a
genre re-orientation :? 8-) ...
(no kinfolk were injured or impregnated in the process!)
and is heading for some fiddle/Dobro/banjo additions to the track;
and some good singer/4-part harmony parts. :)
yeehaw!!
