If you have a couple of minutes, I sure could use some input. I have two vocal versions of the same song. If you could listen and let me know which one works best for the song, I would appreciate it greatly. ;)

ORIGINAL and/or PUBLIC DOMAIN CHILDREN'S LULLABIES with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a great Music Library that has tons of awesome placements in Film, TV, Commercials, and Movie Trailers. Give them pacifying, Down-Tempo Lullabies in the general wheelhouse of memorable classics like Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Hush Little Baby, etc., etc., etc. Your submissions should be acoustic-based, with slumber-friendly melodies sung in a way that would put even the most difficult child to sleep ;-) Your submissions can be as simple as a well-recorded/produced/performed guitar vocal, piano/vocal, ukulele/vocal lullabies, or a fuller production if you'd like. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). They offer an EXCLUSIVE deal, and ultimately your deal will be determined by whether you submit an original or Public Domain song. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit to this listing is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit one to three lullabies online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Wednesday, May 20, 2015. TAXI #Y150520CL

I changed the instrumentation on one of the arrangements. Here is the final mix on that version. Thanks for listening! :)

Hi

What about a stripped down version with very little instrumentation and that same vocal. No drums at all. Maybe even with an acoustic.

Might work with that lyric.

Sincerely

Paul

Good work. I think both might work better for the listing if you remove the drums and bass entirely. Perhaps swap out some light percussion (shaker, light congas) in place of the drums, and perhaps a soft accostic bass that plays simple and out of the way. Or perhaps a cello in place of bass playing some sustained notes. I think both songs currently sound musically like "it's time to wake up you little sleepy head" instead of "its time to go to bed." If you want to keep the bass in the mix I would drop it down quite a bit so that you feel it more than hear it.

Lamar,

I see the deadline has already passed (in the listing), but I wanted to say this is very nice. I think less is more here. As such, the first one would be my choice. I tend to agree with the other comments that this should be really light and that percussion and bass take away from the effect they seem to be looking for in this particular listing.

Thanks guys! I appreciate you listening and taking time to write. You may be right about the percussion aspect. We will see. As for the bass, I fought with it in the mix until I ran out of time. We didn't write the song until the day before the due date! Thanks again for your input. Now its on to the next song! Have a great weekend!! :)

Follow up on Lullaby submission:

I submitted two versions with different vocals. They were both rejected. Apparently the song was too stimulating for children to fall asleep by. ;)
