fwiw: to these old ears, it's a +1 as to the listing.
On the SC track, you tag it partly as "jazz"...which, honestly, doesn't fit.
If it were mine, I would not represent it on the submit as such.
The production sounds great; the lyrics could certainly suit a male vocal perspective;
it's upbeat/happy... good qualities to have.

Just a thought: if you were to do another version, say to a real jazz trio... and tweak the chords to have more maj7th & 9ths
(you know, jazz chords )...
slow it down, sing it with some sultry-vibe to it... it could work well as a full-on jazz tune, imho;
and as a female lead vocal; that part you've got!
There are some fine jazz trio composers and players represented here, if that's not your thing.

I can hear Bublé sing this, definitely a match for the style!
Nice hook, lyrics makes the singer look good, drums/piano references "Haven't met you yet", and the phrasing was right up the Bublé alley, imo. Fantastic job!

To me the vocals wasn't intelligible in various spots, which can be an issue in a demo. I would try a compressor on the vocal track to make it a little more even and to make it clearer in the mix.

I missed a bass in there to glue the arrangement a little more together. If not, I'd like to hear the piano up a notch in volume, and the drums a little dryer. Basically go for a tight band sound.

Definitely worth tinkering with, imo.

I would love to do a bass! I tried a little earlier to do an upright bass but it just sounded so obviously MIDI I didn't know what to do! I'm a brand new 0 experience MIDI programmer so I could definitely use some tips in making it sound a little more real. I have a good sample library (Goliath from EWQL) but in unskilled hands it still sounds pretty fake!

I agree with Kolstad. How does it stand up with just piano and vox? -your basic stripped down demo.

I can hear Michael singing this. Very on the money IMHO. Great job. Agree that the piano could be a bit "more" there in the mix, just a tad tho.

I'm sure the producers can find a bass player ha ha .....

Hi Nice meeting you Is that you singing? Pretty voice. I think I would like it better for this sorta song with no vibrato at all. ( there is less as the song moves along) More sassy of a presentation maybe.

I agree a heavy bass line (with a little stank on it) would send this along nicely.

I play my own bass parts and would love to send a track along to you, but I am not good at sending song tracks. That sort of thing would be fun, especially when all the hard work has been done.

Keep upgrading and posting. would like to follow the improvement progression.

Sounding good so far Joy. It feels like there should be change up in the music a little bit when you start the "You don't put it on to cover up" part and shortly after it should go back to the original keys.

I'd do one of two things.

One, do it just as a piano and voice mix.

Two, record a bass and then work on the trio mix really well (the foundation) before bringing in the vocals. Get it locked in and grooving and then focus on the the vocal, which is the featured instrument in this song. Basically just work on the balance. Given the listing you don't need to use an upright bass, rather something to ground the song and enhance the groove.

BTW, if you do this, there's no harm in submitting both mixes!

Wow Joy, really perfect for the listing! A killer bass part would really make it a standout, though I think you might get through anyway. The lack of bass does draw a little too much attention to the drums, but I'm for adding bass rather than taking the drums away. I also think it needs to be an electric bass to enhance the groove. This doesn't strike me as a song that would be suitable for upright bass.
