Advice needed on first submission.

Hello,

I made my first submission at Taxi for the Chillout Lounge Instrumental Cues shown below. There was no feedback on this particular listing. Just a yes or no. It was returned. Can I get you all to take a listen to this Cue and give me some feedback on it? What would you change and what (if anything) worked well? It is called Serenity Now.

CHILLOUT LOUNGE INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NON-Exclusive Production Music Library with a great list of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials. They're on the hunt for relaxing Down-to-Mid-Tempo Cues that could be found on the same playlist with acts like (but not limited to): Thievery Corporation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN9tulBHr8Y Zero 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tZlu4wP4pw Morcheeba: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJQHjy9p_rk Although some of the references have vocals, they're only looking for Instrumentals for this pitch. Please submit laidback, cosmopolitan sounding Cues that sound like a believable Chillout artist/act, with in-the-pocket grooves and relaxing melodies. Give them Cues with a simple, yet focused melodic motif, while keeping your Cues interesting, dynamic, and forward moving by adding and subtracting various sounds and instruments as your Cue progresses. Please avoid overly busy or frenetic sounds that might sound out of place in Chillout or distract from dialog.

Thanks so much!!! I'm glad to be a part of Taxi!

Lol. Chalk that up to being a newb. It should now be visible. Thanks for the heads up!

Sounds more like an ambient hybrid than chill.

When I think of chillout lounge, I think martinis at midnight.

Good work, thus far! (And welcome!)

much to say but maybe the best way is to compare what you did versus a couple of forwards for the same listing:

Nice cue overall, but the bass is mixed too high. I bought a woofer to help my mixes in that respect.

Also, in the future you must remember to exactly follow the listing statements, ie, here it wants relaxing melodies. Yours didnt quite feel relaxing. And you should also kick back and listen to the reference tracks SEVERAL times before you start composing.

The screeners are TOUGH on us, I have learned.
