For my WIP track, I haven't focused enough on orchestral mixing, so I wonder how you hear the mixing aspects at this stage?
And what about the bass notes for instance? Too repetitive and non-fitting right now?
Anything you could remark on would be highly appreciated!

I might use more bus routing and mixing plugins, like the usual hardware emulation plugs that I didn't yet add everywhere.
So far, I've been busy with composing and adjusting volumes etc. since I started this Tuesday or so.
It's a bit quicker orchestral work than I usually have done. Some orchestral full sections patches and some individual instrument patches.

Cues aren't my thing, but good music comes in many different packages. Fits right in with the listing examples. Thoroughly enjoyed the orchestration and the production. For a WIP, its coming along very well. Surely forwards in this genre are in your future.

I did submit it now.
Will do some further tweaks of a few phrases and replace a few percussion hits, and then hope for the best. (I already put some hardware emulation plugins and updated the track before your comments btw.)

And thank you for the kind acknowledgement for my piano composing skills, Steve!
Lots of post-edited MIDI notes in it, though. That Nocturne no.1 piece is too tough to play with that kind of accuracy live. Way back in the classical piano studying years, I probably could play like that, and the understanding for what's possible and natural or not translates well to post-editing considerations to this day.

But I'm very happy it seems to come through as realistic.

On the opening Frame Drum hit the "snares" sound like a hiss/glitch, might use something else to get the intro started.
Overall volume is low, would bring the entire track up

I get more of a "Movie Trailer" feeling than a "Tension Piece" but I see how this would work for both!
Get the volume up and go for it!

I just replaced the file with the final version, so check it out too if you wish... Not too loud if you have sensitive ears, since some hits are designed to make you jumpy.

I agree about the first percussion part in the version that you commented on. I now replaced that at the beginning, and kept the latter percussion parts more intact.

It's a bit louder mastered now. Not extremely loud though. I hope I maintained the transparency and the dynamics.
But what do you think? Still not loud enough for the genre and usage?

For the context of the composition, I specifically had a full chase scene in mind, with some twists and turns for different shots in it...
I previously added an editing point in the middle of the track, but it i Hopefully it's supposed to be a good editing point there nevertheless, even if it's not an entire full measure pause like I had for a while.

Sounds great! Quality samples and good composition. The short strings could probably use some more presence to add to the tension, I feel like they are getting overshadowed by the stick percussion. But I agree that this is most likely a forward.

I did make a few tweaks after the Sunday deadline, including slightly louder end high strings.

Even more importantly, I decreased the synth bass volume, and a few other mixing tweaks.
I truly kick myself for keeping the synth bass louder in the previous versions.
That probably wouldn't happen if I had done more A/B-ing.

I... I blame my cold and worn out head at the time ! (still a bad excuse, I know I know...)

Anyways, very happy for all your listenings and comments! Let's keep it up! Love it here so far.
