New to Taxi -review help please? Happy to return the favour

Hey guys just signed up a few weeks back. Sent in a couple of songs but the listings didn't have feedback so all I got was a "no" (which is fine). I'm trying to improve my songwriting like everyone else here so if anyone could give me some reviews/pointers it would be much appreciated. I only have 4 songs uploaded so just pick one at random.
I'm happy to provide feedback in return but keep in mind I may not know what I'm talking about

Just post a link to a song you'd like me to listen to.

Here are my thoughts now I'm being a bit more critical with myself - am I on the right track?
Find Myself - chorus needs a better hook and the title only occurs once (in a verse too). I think the verses and bridge are good personally.
If I Ever Lost You - probably sounds a bit dated now I listen back. The bridge is probably a bit repetitive too (was going for a "sing along" vibe)
This Game - I'm actually really happy with this song. If I had to nit-pick it's a bit whiny??
Where to Start - also a bit dated-sounding. I like the melody but maybe it doesn't pick up enough in the chorus (was a quick re-write of another song to make a listing)
Thanks for your help

Post some links and I'll return the favour.

Hi batman Nice to meet you. I just noticed that nobody commented on your songs. I think the reason might be that you asked to have four songs critiqued. I would suggest that you post only one song and ask for specifics like mixing, lyrics, genre etc
I listened to all of them, but I am too old to remember my comments....see

I do know that both of you have very appealing voices and your songs were heartfelt. I personally am not a fan oh a lot of reverb, but in this case, I think it is needed.
There is a ton of talent here in p2p and are usually willing to help. Please don't review the one I have up there. it was an experiment and a really bad choice. ha ha
I wish you the best of luck
Sincerely
Paul

Thanks Paul. I'm still getting my head around how this works. If you want me to listen to anything just say the word.

Hi Batman,
Welcome to Taxi! The forums are full of some great people with excellent, experienced ears. I'm sure you will find them very helpful and insightful. It helps those listening to be able to follow the lyrics, so try to remember to post them as well as the link to the song.
Took a listen to the first track....loved the female vox. Production was solid. Not sure if a song like this needs a repetitive chorus repeated several times, however, I do think there should be that one go to line that will stick in the mind of the listener. Very much enjoyed the listen, will try to check out a couple more thru out the day.
Cheers

Hi Ben,
Welcome to the forums! You've find people are very generous here with their time and feedback.
I listened to Find Myself - very nice, nice vocal. I would say the song needs a little work structure wise,
after the first time of listening I couldn't tell you what the chorus was. It sounded like it went verse, pre-chorus, verse 2.
The hook for me was the 'For I am home' line - repeat this and build it into a chorus.
You might also need more of a bridge - a deviation from the song - then back to the chorus.
Anyway, my two cents is (ignore as you wish) - what you've got is nice, but spend a little time working on song structure,... unless Gotham needs you...

Thanks for the feedback. I've already written a new chorus melody that contrasts the verse a bit more.
I see your point about the bridge but I actually really like it. I'll think about it though.

Hi Batman,
Even if these were yes/no listings, they usually give you a clue why you didn't get forwarded. Go to your submission history and click to view the critique.
Welcome and good luck!
