hahahaha, my first listen through, i was like, whens it gonna kick in, whens it gonna kick in....oh crap *plug in headphones* there we go. I like it, the synths cut the groove a little, and the drums are a bit looped after a while, the only other thing I can think, is you have a lot of really sharp and hard sound elements in there, you might think of toning a few of them into softer sounds, just to really have 1 cut through the mix, it will make it seem a lot sharper and give more of a driving focus, but i like it, its good stuff, kind of a chemical brothers meets heavy d's dark angel theme vibe, I mean I know dark angel wasnt a "crime" show, but it revolved around enough crime, thats the kind of image I got from it, kind of futuristic elite thieves and stuff.

Hi - thanks for that feedback jh & milfus. I've added some dynamics to the drums & worked on softening some elements, and have reposted

my internet is kind of hiccuping, so bear with me. yeah, the horns are kinda starin the show now, and the drums are subtle, but i didnt get the feeling of the loop like before, yeah its shapin up =0)altho I have to say with the less hectic vibe from softening, I might be way off base, but I could TOTALLY see this in the background of doctor who, or like...whats the name of the show...bbc...TORCHWOOD, haha, took 5 minutes, but I remembered, but yeah, I can actually see them like runnin from the aliens and stuff to this

Over all, I think this is a very nice piece you're working on, Vikki. It's just a little rough around the edges. I'm with milfus when it comes to the softer sounds. The horns do sound just a bit loud in certain places, and in other places, there could be more variation (drums a bit repetitive) but all in all, I think if you work on it a bit more, you'll get there. Good luck! There also seemed to be an 'ahhing' noise in there that I just didn't get....maybe my computer speakers are too scratchy but I think that could be left out to create an even better piece, but that's just personal opinion.

This is getting VERY annoying. NERO has suddenly stopped opening ANY of the TAXI files, always giving me a "loading error" message. And THIS time, it told me the file was invalid. There's got to be some way around this. Yes?Ted

YEA!!! I just changed my default media player, and DONE.Vikki, I think this is very cool. Granted, I'm only hearing this through ear buds, but me personally, I didn't have a problem with the horns being so up front.I will agree that, just from a textural standpoint, some variety in the drums could add even MORE tension, but it's a terrific, nail-biter of a piece. I could EASILY see this getting used. And Doctor Who is a GREAT idea.Ted

Hi - thanks Chitty & Ted for the feedback. I did some more work on it and I think the 'landscape' has better dimensions - played with the drums, played some more with dynamics, did some EQ. I think it's stronger but smoother?http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true

Hi Vikki-You tracks always have a very unique vibe to them...I dig it! I think the ambient, almost spacey sound that's imparted from your choice of synthy textures would preclude this from working in a "classic" crime show, but maybe in an epsiode of Dr. Who? A couple thoughts:- The synth stabs in the very beginning feel like they have swing timing to them; I'd straighten that out for this "genre."- Your horn lines (in the right channel) sound somewhat artificial; perhaps you could automate their volume curves to add more dynamics, and possibly adjust some of their start times to hide their attack flaws.Fun stuff...keep it up!André
