I've done a track for the 70's listing.I've tried to capture an "Average White Band" vibe. They had the big hit "Pick Up the Pieces"Comments welcome."Above Average":

Chuck, my man, nice groove, production sounds real clean. The only issue I noticed might be the mix, the cymbals sound a little hot but that might be a personal preference. You might consider pulling the crash and hi-hats back a touch but aside from that I like the track, nice guitar work.... Geo

I realize the deadline is past for this listing, but I just got the chance to listen. Cool vibe there! I just want to put this out there for you, Chuck, or anyone else in the same boat: Besides already being the self-coronated Queen of the High Woodwinds, I play a pretty fair saxophone and have alto, tenor and bari at my disposal. I'm no David Sanborne, but for an Average White Band sound like this, I'm pretty sure I could contribute in a positive way.Kathleen

Hi Chuck,Somehow, I replied to "Country Forwards" in stead of your thread..Hi Chuck,I think it has that 70's thing going on. I could hear that playing on my "Pacers" radio. (I can't believe I admitted owning a Pacer.>)Good luck with it!Bob

Hi Chuck,Cool vibe, nice guitar work as usual. AWB was one of my favorites in the day, I wore the grooves out of that first album with the great cover (you know the one I mean!! ).Production-wise, the drums sounded a bit too wet for my taste but that's just my taste and what I remember from the AWB productions. I went back and listened and if any drum had the slightest amount of reverb on it, it sounds like it might be the snare drum and maybe the hats at certain times, like intros.I liked the sax sound. I have a question: did you play each track separately? I could have used a bit more variation in articulation from one track to the next. Just enough to make it sound more like 2 different players.Just my $0.02!I think you got the 70s vibe. Good luck with this one!!Mazz
