Hi David! Really beautiful melody and nice choice of instruments. It definitely had the emotional feel you were looking for, I thought. Good job!!I felt a little "off" about how the instruments switched from one to the other, the fade of one into the fade-in of another......for a classical type feeling like this, I might've gone a more conservative route....like starting more directly with the piano instead of the string intro fading into the piano then fading into the next instrument. But that's certainly a personal preference, not something I think is a mistake or anything.Good luck, let us know how it turns out!

Hey Squid Thanks for the comments You may be right about the mix, I usually use headphones, but I did this one with speakers. I'll check it with the cans tomorrow and see what tweakage is needed.

Hi David, that is a really good piece. It certainly works as an "emotional" cue, I can definitely picture it with a variety of scenes of that nature. The only comment I would offer is that, to my ears, the attack on the oboe sounds a little "funny" (sorry I can't find any other way of describing it). Especially on the fast runs I don't feel it sounds as natural as it could. I'm not talking about the quality of the sample, just the way it is played because it doesn't sound as though an actual oboe player could have played it that way. That is also a matter of taste, of course, you may not be aiming to make it sound "real" in that regard so take my comment with a grain of salt. But in all other regards that is a great piece of music. Good luck with it.Antonio

Hi David,Nice arrangement and I feel it is on target. It reminds me of something John Rudder would write.Antonio is on the money about the oboe ( Although, I hear it as more of an English Horn ). Having played both instruments for many years he is correct. I have found when playing other instruments through a keyboard you have to feel the instrument, this includes where the ( soloist) would take his breaths and the attack of the notes. The only thing that concerns me with the reed sound is the attack on the grace notes and some of the runs, when they land I feel like actual oboe/english hornist was fumbling for the notes. Also, if you have the recording capability I'd program in some crescendos and decrescendo on some of reeds whole notes ( to build more tension). ( My $.02).It's a very nice piece, good luck with it.Bob

David,I am not a musician or a producer, so I cannot help you with details, but as a listener, I thought it was very good. Def fit with an emotional journey. My favorite part was the intro 0:00-0:30, I thought that was excellent.My least favorite part was 0:30-0:37, I did not really like this transition.The rest was good.Dean
